Gorge!!
wow! I decided to play gorge this evening so after I built the hive I followed a fade out hoping he'd lead me to a node or somewhere to fortify. Well we ran into some turrets and all I did was stand behind him and use healing spray, after a second a second fade joined us and we ran into a room with 6 turrets and just wiped them out because I stood behind the fades and healed them

6 turrets? that seems unlikely.

what i find the best is to do when there are only 3 or 4 turrets is to do skulk hit-and-runs. i attack a turret and run back to some defence chambers and heal up, then come back and finish off the turret. i usually kill 1 every second strike.

Lol, you can 0wn a LOT more than 6 turrets as a fade... esp. if you have bile bomb. Heck, two fades with bile bomb (man I do sound like a broken record) can take down just about ANY number of turrets if they strafe like mad.

The very best weapon for turret siege: Lerks and Umbra. While in the umbra cloud, turret potency reduces to about 1/4th (or less!).

I'm hoping I can get the devs to move Umbra to be the second level attack for Lerks. That way aliens with only one hive have an actual way to remove marine turrets. Otherwise, with turrets in/blocking the way to hive 2 and 3, the aliens have absolutely no way of bouncing back. Got into that situation more often than I like to remember.

Throw a lerk in with a gorge and a pair of fades and you get a whole lotta' dead stuff. Bye bye Marine anything.

good luck getting 4 alien players in the same area, doing the same thing, in the correct class. Maybe in a private server, but very tough on public.

Yes this works very well, and like they said you can own a LOT more than 6 turrets. It basically makes the fade invincible, you just gotta make sure the gorge is protected.

Today I had the best teamplay game ever.
I played aliens a couple of times and we had superb teamwork.
We kept the marines at bay reinforcing where needed and sticking together.
When you play the game it is supposed to be played it is the best mod ever and indeed very balanced.

Not only did I evolve as an alien, but as an alien player as well.
I found out that it is possible to take out a heavy armor with just one gorge. Just webbing him continuosly and he is stuck =) (of course, you need adrenaline for it to work)

and, yeah, it was a public server with a couple of noobs as well

Classic. Its especially fun when you simply waltz right up to him and heal spray him to death. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I hate the umbra. To me, the entire point of being an alien is to move swiftly, and strike hard. The umbra, on the other hand, requires one to sit. Still. In the middle of an umbra. and shoot/claw at something. Almost everything about the alien race in this game encourages the "move fast, strike hard" philosophy... except the umbra. I wish the umbra had a BIG radius, like filling up a whole room.. but maybe only protecting from 50% of bullets. Of course, to compensate, stuff like turrets would need to be weaker, as the main anti-turret weapon is gone now. A big radius but less protection means the aliens still need to be running around.

Also, don't rely on the umbra to protect you from HMG fire for long. Especially not two HMGs! Ouch, talk about a quick death.
For the Lerk anyway

this "heal fades while they attack turrets" method sounds too good to be true. Will definately try it!
