Just have a gore toggle which toggles between two wads, one of bloody decals and one of totally transparent ones. I don't think you can swap wads like that with a toggle, but you get the idea.
Not saying you should do this, because it'd need to be programmed in, but i'm possibly inspiring someone to make an I&S post.
This could also toggle marines gibbing and bleeding. (Wouldn't it be fun to see a seige turret gib a bunch of skulks?)

With this mappers would be able to include gore in their map and still have the chance of it going official because the gore is invisible by default.

Well, there's a plugin that enables gibbing. It's originally designed for CS, but it works nearly as well for NS (with the exception that Aliens gib human organs ).

It's quite popular on the server I (used to) host. Along with night-vision, Gorge mines, and the Nuclear missile.

The Nuke plugin for CS is largely functional when placed into NS (has the countdown and announcements and all), with the exception of the actual detonation. Perhaps...?

However, a great majority of these things have specifically been coded OUT of the game. Is there some particular reason that a way to circumvent the intention of the Devs should be spread on the Devs' own forums?
