Very Bad Server Pings.

<div class="IPBDescription">and no cause can be found...</div> Ok, my clan leader has a server, dual 2.4 ghz zeons, 2 gigs of memory, OC3, all the good stuff, and when it first ran NS it ran fine, no lag spikes, no problems at all. Now though, it has started to have huge lag spikes when anything happens (really, now its gotten to the point when any game is played it laggs to 500 ping.), but while the NS part lags to 500, the CS servers stay at 20-50 ping. Complete reinstalls, no plugins, some plugins, nothing has fixed it, it has only become worse. Has anyone else had this problem, or know a way to fix it (or something we may not have tried)?

hosting your own personal servers alot of the time doesnt come down to the specs of the server machine but the connection of the internet , he may be capped on the amount of uploads going through his cable connection , due to the amount of people joining the server it required much more upload / download on the server causing it too lag spike.

His ISP could be limiting his bandwith usage cause he is over his limit.

Well, he tried one last thing, which was to move NS to the other SATA drive in the server. It worked. It turns out that the harddrive bottlenecked the NS server.
