<div class="IPBDescription">Wrong Steam Account?!?!</div> I am currently trying to get steam to recognize NS 3.4
Now, heres the problem I have two steam accounts, one is mine one is my roommates. NS keeps trying to install to HIS e-mail blahblah@hotmail.com when what I need for it do is to install under my e-mail rshewett@hotmail.com. So I tried several things already...
1.) I went into the steamapps folder and deleted his email (his steam account) I figured the installer would then default to my e-mail... No luck it actually recreated his email account....
2.) So i decided I would uninstall steam and NS. After doing that I reinstalled steam, then let it update, played some CS to make sure everything was working (and yes i was logged in with my steam account). No luck....
So im pretty much stumped here... That install file keeps going to his email as the default steam account and there is no way for me to tell it where it should really be going. In short when i click "Games" there is no NS....
It worked fine when we were using his steam account btw..

pls read the full instructions and follow them to the letter and this issue will go away. I've already done it via vnc or pcanywhere on people's machines who swore to me they'd followed the instructions, so I know it works. Give it a shot.
Man this is alot of work to play one game.
Steam has issues with putting to much in the registry and not knowing when to remove it.
what ever the first Steam account registered on the computer was will ALWAYS be where installers like the NSP installer try to go to. Even after uninstalling steam and moving the install path it will recreate the old one (sucks don't it? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
What you want to do:
Install Beta 1 (this will NOT ever let you pick the install dir). Once that is done nab the created NSP folder and stick it into the proper Half-Life folder.
Now you can use the 2 patchers (4 and 4a) as per my guide.
MY guess (in that NS is not showing up on your list of games) is that you don't have the FIRST installer in the corect place (as this actualy installs all of the critical files, the patchyers simply overwrite a few of them).
So, use the search option on your computer and remove all instances of nsp.
Then run the beta 1 installer (ns_install_v3_b1.exe)
find the nsp folder and put in the proper place.
then run the other 2 patchers <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

What I did was go to my Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs> NS 3.4a
and removed it.
Then installed the Beta 1 Client after it was finished I booted up steam and it recognized the game. So then I just installed the two patches so I should be good to go.
Thanks for all the help guys I really appreciate it.
