Trying To Start A New Site

Ill put this down as quickly as possible. Im trying to start a new Ns Customization site. Not necesserily trying to make models but to collect them all together from everywhere I can find them to make everything easier for everyone. At the moment I have some very nice webhosting:

10 gigabytes space/ 75 gigabytes transfer a month

And heres where I need the help. I cant script in any language well enough to make a decent smooth running site that will last. If you can do this and you're willing to then you can pretty much call the site and hosting your own.

(The hosting includes pretty much anything that you could ask for... php, mysql, cgi, pop/web email, ftp. I also believe it has asp but Im not sure.)

I dont want to use a cms -I hate all the excess fat on there. I really want a very, very simple site with an extremely easy to navigate setup. I dont need anything buffed up to look super cool just a simple layout where news/custom models/server plugins/ custom maps can be submitted. More like a database than a community site -though there will be developement forums.

If it doesn't have ASP I can help, done a lot of PHP stuff. If all you need is a simple listing of the models in certain categories (with search and stuff) and the details for each model, thats even easier. Simple database setup, with an index page and a detail page.

I just realized how much Im lacking in for website design in ps atm. I sed to be pretty good but I havent been doing it for quite awhile; lost my touch.

This is all I was able to come up with, and I ashame even myself.

So if anyone wants to have a go at it be my guest.

As long as the host is fast, the mirror is fast it should be good.

Provide people with the file as fast as possible, but make sure you know what your hosting, not just doing it to be first.

Okay I dug up an old site design that I made for a site that never got started, and tweaked the colors a little, added a placeholder banner, etc. It's just a bare layout, and don't bother with the nav bar at the top, none of the other pages exist. I remember using a lot of articles from ALA when doing this design.... supid Windows IE and it hating CSS.

Edit: Wow! A <a href='http://dorian.carpe-noctem.ca/ns' target='_blank'>link</a> might help!

Edit #2: the quotes are mostly nabbed from sigs, and if anyone has any to add/remove, feel free to pm/email/post/whatever.
