<div class="IPBDescription">what do you think ;)</div> Since its confirmed that both Counter-strike and Halflife1 will be available in the Half-life 2 engine.

My though is: what if our beloved game would be in the source engine.. Tbh my thought was: omg with that lightning.. Imagine youre looking at a resnode then you suddenly see a skulk shadow comes sneaky towards you from the behind..

What an atmosphere that wouldve been, i want that atmosphere tbh <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->..

    as i recall flayra said that he would not just port over ns to source engine, if ns was on the source he would use it to its full advantage and add many new things. not just slap it onto the source.

    he says that.. and yes i believe everything would be reworked. though temporarily i think it will just be ported over like cs and dod and such... Both of those are just being ported until they are reworked.

    I've heard from the voices in my head that they have already started making the new models for NS:S

    And the BUS will allow tanks into the NS universe for the first time.

    what is source? i think I hear this propasition many times before but i am not sure if anyone ever said what source is but I think the outcome is clear many people said many times that it would never happen but it looks like it is easy but what do I know.

    No, the reworked versions come out on the same day HL2 comes out... As for NS... Oh man, would that be sploogtastic. Skulks could hide in the shadows, and the flashlights... mommy. Since everything would be reworked, we could definitely anticipate things like
    1) ub3r lighting for everything
    2) anything and everything atmospheric (much better textures, hives actually infest the places they're in, cool ragdoll for deaths, etc...) cloaking would just be awesome
    3) lots of new stuff - perhaps cam's attached to marines shoulders so when a comm clicks on a marine, a first person box comes up, and other things... (not that any movie ever did this before.... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> ).

    I dunno, there's just so much stuff they could add that it would make me cry. For joy.

    NS:S=BUS, anyone? They may have been changing things in the code already to prepare for a quick port to the Source enigne. Just can't see the changes in the HL1 engine.

    Wild speculation? Yes. But it's the most probable idea I can come up with for the BUS.

    That is quite an interesting guess... after all, it would account for beta 4 being the first phase of the BUS, as the changelog said. It would be tweaking of the code that goes beneath the game, so it may create bugs, but that would be all we ever see of it until the said porting.

    damn.. i really like that idea of the cam on the shoulder so the comm can see whats going on... many times its hard for the comm to really see whats going on on the ground.
