About Reloading Weapons

Before you make any assumptions, this is not a post about reload times,rof,etc.

The thing i want to see changed is how the reloading process works for your gun.
Rather than have it automatically reload when your clip is empty,have it wait till you press your reload weapon button before you actually do it... much like DOD.

Now before you flame me about switch to pistol/knife blah blah.... That's not the point.

The point is I would rather let the clip be empty,than make a ton of noise reloading/switching weapons when im trying to sneak around to a hive.

Plus i think its a good prefrence thing to add to the mod. Make it toggable in the cusomization/options menu in the game menu that way people can choose either way they want it.

Would be a good feature to add if its not too hard to code.

Hopefully a dev will see this and maybe run it by the NS team.

    I dig the idea, and I know what you're talking about...sneaking up on a hive then reloading...not very good.

    Call me stupid, but I never noticed reload sounds except my own. I dont think other people can hear you reloading.

    what I know for sure, is that you hear the switching sound when you change your weapon. Reload sound or 3rd player reload anim dont work what I know.

    I hear other players reloading sounds, I might change the wav to "Come eat me now" as that's what it signals to me!

    Anyways, I usually put this on all games I play if possible. I'm used to hitting a reload button to tell the player what to do, and not make him do stuff I don't tell him...

    ya i just realized that other people cant here you reload, but maybe flayra will fix that in the upcomming patch :O.

    So then this would be a good idea.

    Reload sounds make no noise. Weapon switching makes noise. Hopefully reload sounds will start making noise soon, as it really helps ambushing skulks to know when someone's caught with their pants down. As it is you just have to guess if that marine standing there staring and not shooting is REALLY reloading, or just standing and waiting for you to think he's reloading... And when will the 3rd person reload anims (the ones that are done, anyway) be included in the game? The completed ones look pretty nice.

    I wouldn't mind this, it would take some getting used to, but I've occasionally fallen victim to expecting an autoreload when I had one or two bullets left. Oops. *reload* *CHOMP*

    DoD needs cl_autoboltaction 0 so I can stop dying when my stupid German misses his shot and can't bayonet.

    I wouldn't mind an option to turn off autoreload in NS

    Wouldn't all the shooting that just emptied the clip make more noise then the reloading?

    No the thing is, so like you run out of ammo because you ran outa spawn without humping the armory. You waste all your bullets shooting at w/e, and you decide to sneak a phase to hive lets say. Well while your on your way there the comm drops you ammo right as a skulk attacks... your screwed cause it causes that split second of reloading before switching weapons. Plus its anoying when trying to build a build with the reload animation going off.

    Like I said, it would be nice additional feature if they could do this, but not go out of there way to delay a patch or something.

    So yea, I find this idea unneeded.
