Welding Vents

I was playing on ns_bast, and at the start of the map a few of us ran around welding shut all the vents we could find, ESPECIALLY the one leading straight into the docking bay from the hallway near the engine room (between the big hatch and the revolving door, y'know?)
Anyway, later on in the map we got it up the proverbial **obscenity** from a couple of Fades who had snuck in through those same vents... can the aliens get through welding somehow? My thoughts were either just straight damage to the weld, or possibly blinking through it.
Anyone know? Thx.

It could be possible that they blink through it. I know I've blinked through some welded areas before... and I know you can blink through closed doors.
