Nightblade
<div class="IPBDescription">from the creators of AlienSwarm!</div> AlienSwarm, which a lot of you know, is one of the best ut2004 mods out there with intense gameplay and storyline. Soon a new mod by 'BlackCat Games' called NightBlade will be released for UT2004. <a href='http://www.night-blade.com/' target='_blank'>First impressions are good</a> with great looking screenshots. <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Our aim is to create a dark medieval world with a number of multiplayer stealth and combat oriented gametypes.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
<img src='http://www.night-blade.com/images/screenshots/ThiefRenderThumb.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> * New player models.
* New medieval themed maps and meshes.
* New player physics, allowing the player to mantle up ledges and lean around corners.
* Intense third person melee combat with a variety of weapons, including axes, swords, daggers, maces, etc.
* Ranged crossbow combat with a variety of bolt types, including fire, ice and poison gas.
* A stealth system for the thieves to hide in shadows and become invisible.
A variety of gametypes, including:
* Guild War - the Bloodstone Guild and the Blacktooth Rogues compete against one another to raid part of the city. With bases at either end of the map, loot and the AI City Guard in the middle, the thieves must sneak and fight their way to victory, grabbing what loot they can, while protecting their own stashes.
* Arena - violent 1 on 1 and 2 vs 2 sword combat across a variety of arenas.
* Quest - 1 to 4 players join up to cooperately search the city and outlying areas to discover the 4 pieces of the Nightblade. This gametype will feature a variety of foes and RPG-like character improvement.
* Thieves vs Guards - a classic gametype where a team of player controlled thieves must outwit the player controlled guards and get the loot.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
As you can see it sounds mightily impressive. Alien Swarm sounded impressive and they delivered. I can't see this being bad. Some might say that this is very similar to Thief and it really is, if you have a look at the movie there are some distinctive similarities. It still looks good though and hey, it could be better than Thief 3.
If you wish to see a preview they have a small video on the website.

My point is, this is in no way any different from Thievery. Even the style is the same. The only difference is really the name, which is why I'm angry they're trying to act like "OMG WE R ORIGAHN0L! LUB US PWEEZ3!"

Considering the fact that it's being developed by the <i>very same team</i> that made Thievery UT...well, yeah... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The Quest mode sounds superawesome though. Co-op owns IRL.
Put it on the record: I have been pwned. :o
The Thieves vs Guards mode is the norm though (at least in guild wars - I mean the real community tournaments)
