Quick Gamecube Question

For you consolites out in NS Land
Ok, I remember Nintendo released the new 1019 memory card just before I went offline and moved. I also remember seeing there were some problems with it, though I can't remember the severity. However, what with the being offline and moving and losing track of everything in that span, I was never aware of how that turned out.

Can anyone tell me if that issue has been addressed, or if it's minor enough to ignore, and/or if the 1019 is worth it? Thankee kindly.

My GameCube Memory card's not made by Nintendo, and I heard they are the ones that have the problems, not he official Nintendo ones. I heard they sometimes delete saves, but for the time I've had my card, nothing's gone wrong.

Oh, so was it only the third-party ones that had the problem? Hmm. Well, that would certainly resolve that dilemma if that's the case.

    It also depends on game.

Metroid Prime had a TERRIBLE save system. A lot of people would have stuff randomly deleted for no reason.

I have a 3rd Party Memory Card that holds 1019 blocks of data and every now and then the GCN will read it as corrupted. So I have to take it out and put it back in a few times and it's good. I've never had any problems with losing data. And I've never had any problems with Metroid Prime at all, nothing has ever deleted itself for me on that game and i've beaten it like 3 times. Awesome game if you ask me.

My brother has one of those and said one time it erased his Time Splitters 2 save. I'd avoid the buggers.

Say, does anyone know if those SD Card converters are available? You know the one one that looks like a GC memory card, but you really just slip an SD card into it? I figure I might as well get one now since I finally have other uses for SD cards.

Hmm.. I just got a random generic gamecube savegame card, and i've had it for as long as I've had my cube (about 2 years now?), no problems whatsoever. In fact I'm a little suprised to learn that other people are even having these problems.

I remember pictures of that a while back... but that idea must have gotten canned.
