Hey guys!
Im new to NS, in fact I haven't even got to installing it. Because I have the simple problem that my only HDD in my computer i named "E:". When you install NS it automaticly starts to install on "c:/games", that is not possible on my computer because i don't have any "c: drive".

What to do?

If there is ant help out there, that doesn't including formating my computer, and renaming the partition it would make me smile. So please fellas make me happy <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Greets from S?ren - DK

PS. Sorry I missed out a "?" in the topic title (it sounds like i know how to, when im really asking! :S)

if you can't install it on c: then install it on e:
    what's the problem?

but it's weird it tries to install to c:\games? Are you sure you have the last version?

It should never point at C:\games seeing how as the installer should auto install to where ever you have Steam installed.

    Guide for instilation:

    1) Install Steam.

    2) Play HL atleast Once via Steam (just booting up the training mission will do).

    3) Download these 3 files:
    ns_install_v3_b1.exe
    ns_v30_b4_patch.exe
    ns_v30_b4a_patch.exe

    4) Install NS V3.0 Beta 1 (ns_install_v3_b1.exe) (This should auto install to steam\steamApps\your@email\half-life\nsp, if it does not, move the NSP folder there).

    5) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4 (ns_v30_b4_patch.exe) (point this at steam\steamApps\your@email\Half-Life\ do NOT include the NSP).

    6) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4a (ns_v30_b4a_patch.exe) (See * at bottom).

    7) Search your Hard drive(s) for folders named nsp.

    8) If you have more than one you messed up. Goto Step 3.

If you folow these steps properly you will not get client.dll or map.bsp errors.

If you are positive you have folowed them corectly then redownload the installer form a different location.

*There aslo seems to be a bug with, atleast some of, the 4a installers. Try pointing it at steamApps\your@email\ instead of steamApps\your@email\half-life

Note: This is a file stored on my desktop because I have to use it so many times.

I have no c: so that is not an option. And i have steam installed, and working on my disk (e:). I guess I'll just format, and make it right from start.

Not necessary, but a wise move. There are many programs that NEED a C drive. Windows belongs on C, period. Win98 wont even work unless it is installed on C.

If you want to dual boot, you should have 2 C: drives that hide and show depending on which OS is being used, IMO.

Youre not the only one having this problem mate, my HDD is F:
when i go to install, it says cant find c:\program files...
Theres no way of pointing to a different drive letter or folder, so theres no way around it unless you reformat unless the NS team could come up with a fix?
