F-zero Gx

Wow, how did I miss this?
So, the other day my friend decides to sell his Gamecube (fool) and all his Gamecube stuff. But before he does, he asks if I want any of the games he has. For some reason, I choose F-Zero GX because, hey, I heard it was pretty good. I thought, "I'm not even really fond of racing games, but I have F-Zero X and I've played F-Zero...I'll give this a go."
Long story short, a week later I am writing this. F-Zero GX, though not exactly a brand new game, has got to be one of the best GC games I have ever played. I mean, this game is just WOW. I love everything about it. That is, "everything" being...
(1) The only other GC game with better visuals is Metroid Prime, and (arguably) only a little bit better. Every track and vehicle absolutely blew my mind. You can go over 2000kpm with 29 other racers and not have a single frame skip.
(2) The gameplay is not only dangerously addictive, it is cleverly simple and sophisticated at the same time. I actually take the time to study tracks before I race them, so I know whether I should go for Max Speed or Acceleration when tweaking my racer.
(3) In the sound department of this game, there is nothing but the essence of awesomeness. Everything sounds cool. Airbraking, boosting, gliding through the air, everything. And not to mention the music! Oh my god, the music makes my ears orgasm! If I had to describe the music in three words, I would say "Awesome Electronical Guitaristics." A match made in heaven, most of the songs make a perfect blend between synthesizer and guitar. And each racer comes with his/hers/its theme!*
(4) The sheer challenge of this game will always beat you, but never frustrate you. The difficulty of the tracks and AI as you get further the game will make your head spin, yet the tracks are never unbeatable, and the AI never cheats. It never fails to induce that good 'ol "Just One More Try" feel.
(5) There's lots of fun stuff to do. You can build your own custom machine, give it your own emblem, and race it like there's no tommorow! This part is especially sophisticated, because you often find yourself in a struggle over what parts to get. "This booster weighs less, but it's Class C! This booster weighs more, but it's Class B!" OR, you can give Time Trial a go, and try to unlock the Staff Ghost for each track (no easy feat)!
(6) Story mode. FMV scenes. 'Nuff said.
I really wish I played this game sooner, because it rocks beyond oblivion. Eat your heart out, Double Dash.

Why does everyone say stuff like that? It gives me nightmares.
Anyways, thanks for the recommendation. I might rent this game tonight.

Oh, and I'd like to add, since the game is no longer new, you can find it at Best Buy for $20. That's a freaking great deal for a game this good.
strangely difficult at first. I got used to it eventually... and
then my GameCube died
I still have F-Zero X (N64, Woo!) and the GBA version.
I don't get it either. It's creepy, lewd, and inappropriate.
Fast? Naw, there's plenty of reflex time. It's not "Ikaruga" hard. It's just that when you're trying to catch every boost, getting faster faster, your controls get more and more sensitive to turning, increasing your chance of scraping against a wall and slowing you down. It's not fast, it just takes practice.
And yeah, Extreme G is awesome.
And F-Zero GX is bad **** too.
But GX is an atrociously hard game, just to unlock the final cup, you have to finish all other cups on Master(and to get master, you have to finish them all on expert)
Story mode is rock hard in some places, namely the final mission, which i only just completed last week.
Oh, and I upgraded my custom ship a bit. Behold...
The Shock Crest-G4!
1620kg, Medium Carrier
Body C
Cockpit B
Booster B
They rox. Some of the races get really, really hard though.
sky horse, heat snake, triple -z.

No, i was talking about the AX cup.
My ship.
Frost Lynx -G4
1700kg
Body: [something] horse(i think)
Boost: Titan G4
Cockpit: can't remember
Body:C
Boost: B
Grip: B
[EDIT:]Phantom Road Slimline Slits is EVIL
Awfully fast, isn't it?
Didn't expect it to be as pretty as it is, either.
Not sure how you're supposed to beat expert mode, though.

You thought Expert was hard? just wait until you see master
Going for the kill, an awkward decision to make.
On the first track in a competition, especially in the diamond cup, you should look to get 5+ kills, in the diamond cup, aim for 10, you'll thank yourself when you get to those hard tracks.
Always knock off your rival. Always. Being 100+ points clear going into the last race is a lifesaver, knowing that you can take the track slowly, and you don't need to rush.
ah, happy days
and then you can laugh as octoman RULES THE WORLD

I so want that.
Get it on the Gamecube and you can bring your memory card over and get new parts/tracks/racers. This game is SERIOUSLY addicting, don't tell me it's hard. The only thing that is hard is the story mode. I find the GP mode fairly easy, it all depends on what ship you use (COUGH COUGH USE A CUSTOM IF YOU ARE A NUB). Go to the arcades and show your skill their
Some hints:
Good Ship: Frost Lynx-G4
Try snaking, makes your speeds go up to 3000km and beyond!
Here's a good site for help if you think it is hard...

It's an accepted usage of the word (checked dictionary.com), and it's a lot more interesting than "the sound made my ears feel nice".
