Connect To A Server Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">veryfying and downloading resources !?!</div> 90% of the times i want to connect to a server my processus page stop to veryfying and downloading resources (at 50%)..i dont know why its doing that...if someones can help me ill appreciate.

    Sytem specs (OS,RAM, etc) would be helpful along with internet connection (Dialup, cable, dsl)

    Make sure you have nothing running in the b-gound (AIM, other internet usage progs) and system is clean of spyware, ect.

    Hey, did not see sytem specs.

    Close Steam. Go in to C:/program files/steam and move your clientregistry.blob file to your desktop. Restart Steam.

    We can't really help if you don't tell us more about your system. Like what OS are you using (WinXP, Win2000, etc)? What type of internet connection do you have (DSL, Cable, 56k)?

    its not supose to be my system because i get xp pro-xp1800-geforce4 420mx-256 rams 333 so my system is ok to run natural selection
    my internet is cable... 400k/sec download 100k/sec upload...thanks

    You could use another stick of RAM. More RAM baby MORE!

    Edit: BTW you can try to increase your pagefile size which may help. right click My Computer > Properties> Advanced Tab> Performance> Settings > Advanced Tab > Virtual Memory Change>. Click on Custom and set your Initial Sixe to 2.5X to 3X your total RAM. I have mine on 3X ( Initial and Max are the same).

    Don't forget to click Set.
