To Flint Paper:
Nononono, its not that easy.
Whoever said that is obviously not right- everything is pointing to something different on the page. Their saying something BAD will happen- I'm guessing something with Dana's family. Having the SP demo come out also is totally unlike Bujie's style- they've NEVER liked putting demos out. They were practically forced to do ONi's...not to mention, that solution would be too simple. Why go through all of this just to do something you can figure out by the first page, the home page? There is no reason. And don't give me that BS about "To throw you off" because frankly its not a very good game then, which is what it was made to be.
BTW, it seems a few messages have been added to the page, I'll continue to update(being this is the day network throttling erodes)

Quanaut's last post definitely sounds like Cortana. The part about a "sea-change" means Cortana is going to change in Halo, probably due to the time she spent in the Forerunner core. Could she turn into the Miranda entity Joe Staten spoke of in the "Making Halo 2" video, the Miranda that "strapped a bomb to his (the Chief's) back and shoved him down a hole."

Well, I think the fact that Margaret's email adress is "ladybee<b>777</b>" is enough evidence to say that this is gonna be a huge Marathon tie-in.
So yeah - it will probably be a rogue AI. People have speculated that 343 Guilty Spark is some incarnation of Durandal itself. They've also made guesses that Cortana might be some alias for a re-rampant Leela.

This AI was obviously under attack by the ships crew (who are presumably dead from the crash) when it crashed and now is probably being vivisected by the Covies, just look at all the references to the doctors and scientists... Unfortunatley, I have a bunch of other and probably more plausible theories. If the one I just stated is true, it would explain how the Covies found Earth. Oh wait... Damn I need to read First Strike again!

I was up way too late last night looking at all the odds and ends of this.
Whoever does this sort of thing at Bungie is very, very creative indeed. And the people that manage to unravel the very loose connections, especially the ones intermixing mythology and Marathon and whatnot... wow...
Someone care to do a synopsis of the Halo storyline outside of what happens from the events of the game (Like the books and stuff)?
And can someone also do a marathon series synopsis?
I would but I haven't read the book for a long time.
Fall of Reach: Master Chief and the SPARTAN-IIs are drafted at young ages and trained. They also receive their cybernetic enhancements and treatments that make them super. Presumably, all but the Chief and a few SPARTAN-IIs too far away to be recalled for the Reach-launched mission are alive at the end of the book, when the Chief and his badly wounded friend (Kelly? I don't remember but I know it was a female SPARTAN-II) end up crash-landing on Halo.
First Strike: My personal favorite Halo book. It picks up right where the game ends. In this book, the humans find a Forerunner crystal that is very, very holy to the Covenant and use it. It messes up slipspace (maybe a little time travel involved; I can't remember). Anyways, they blow up a whole Covenant armada and by the end of the book the Chief is alive and with 3 other SPARTAN-IIs; Fred, Will, and Linda. Dr. Halsey took Kelly off on some private mission that everyone on the Bungie.net forums is hella confused about.

This is all very wierd ( and sorry for Necromancy XD). But it all sounds something for Bungie to keep us ...."entertained" till 9 November (The release of Halo 2) Probably August 26 will just have more things for us to go on and look for. And All those speeches sound like Cortana, I have a few Halo fans that say. "Yah even before we read that we heard somewhere else that Cortana goes crazy in Halo 2". I cant wait for August 26, it cant be a release of Halo 2 demo, but Im sure something will happen. (Probably more things for us to be entertained with like I said before)

Unless we're talking Xbox live. In that case I'll bow my head and shut up.

So yeah - it will probably be a rogue AI. People have speculated that 343 Guilty Spark is some incarnation of Durandal itself. They've also made guesses that Cortana might be some alias for a re-rampant Leela.
*shrug*
Time will tell, right? God I love Bungie.

Actually, what I think is going on, is that 343 Guilty Spark has manifested Cortana- they got to spend a lot of time together at the computer, so it'd explain a lot.

Wait- thats actually a ingenious thought. Maybe that crash was the Pillar itself- maybe this whole thing is incredibly old! And wouldn't the sand be scorched beneath the wreckage with it just coming into Halo's atmosphere? Maybe this is the other Spartan's in the Autumn remembering when they woke up before- KEYS. KEYS WAS STILL ON THE SHIP! OF COURSE! He put the other Spartans back into Cryo! Thats why it took him so long to be found- long enough for the Covenant to find him.
...theres going to be a log from Keys in here somewhere. We just gotta find it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'm surprised I remember as much as I do. Maybe I too should go through FS again.
