My Computer Is Overheating. :(

<div class="IPBDescription">This should fix it.</div> Alright - for about a week now, my secondary computer has been shutting itself down, and I didn't know why.

I found out that the computer ran better with the case off. Then I thought, "Aha! it's over heating!"

So, I thought that it could be a broken fan... but they all seemed to still be running... how odd. Then I noticed that the hard drives were VERY hard. Why?!

So I went to my local Computer store, and the dude said, "Chaaa, man - go buy yerself 'nother fan, dawg." So, he crammed a $16 fan in my face and charged me for it. I thought, "Meh - better than nothing."

Then I realised my blasted computer had no spot for another fan, nor did it have another power cable hookup to support another one.

So thats where I got angry, and fixed it the Sid way: <img src='http://stupidsid.250free.com/misc/TURBOCOMP2000.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    I had to do the same thing for a while. Found out my fan on my CPU was full of dust, which was causing the overheating. Decided to put a better fan on it anyway.

    Hah, your computer is overheating?!

    Yesterday an LED shorted out in one of my comps causing a huge puff of black smoke and one of the wires to glow so red it lit up the entire room. That's hot. The computer still works though, just the PSU was rather angry.

    my computer never goes over 100 degrees F (the cpu.) MB never goes over 80, weeeeee!

    My old AMD computer would get up to 150 degrees....the cpu is slowly melting.... lol

    I had some problem before, my computer was near a wall, and it didnt get enough space.
    So i moved it and had clear space around it, almost 1 meter or 2.
    Then i opened one window and let the fresh air come into the room.

    Those lights don't really emit a lot of heat, and I put that fan in front of the case to test whether the constant crashing is a heating issue. Turns out it's not, as the computer still keeps locking up with the fan on.

    I thought that I'd let u know that allowing a computer to overheat to such a certain degree can also heat papers and other flammables surrounding it.

    We have usually found that the result from these fires is playing to much NS. LOL.
