Game Changes Questions

Questions
Hi, I use to play NS religiously, then I stopped for a few months but have started playing it again recently..

I have two questions though of new things that I noticed that I can't seem to find info for anywhere,

1) As a gorge, sporing an rt, I've seen it done, how do I do it? And what does it do? I assume it acts just like the electrify of the marines?

2) What is Focus? What does it do?

Cheers!

    1) That's a plugin - ie - it's not officially part of the game so not sure about that i'm afraid.

    2) Focus increases the damage done by your first attack (Skulk: bite, Lerk: Bite, Gorge: Spit, Fade: Swipe, Onos: Gore) but it also decreases the rate of fire

to use the sporify plugin you simply go near the rt and hold down your attack button as if it was your use button. (shoot it)

Focus effects ONLY the first slot weapons. none of the others. it doubles the damage, and doubles the amount of time between bites/slashes/gores/spits

sporemine is a plugin, to use it type bind "key" "sporemine" in console, and then press that key to drop a sporemine

or u cna just type sporemine in console, i find it easier to bind a key

Xenofocus was a problem in combat. In classic it might have been fine.

true, it wasn't THAT bad (as you had to wait to evolve focus each time).

But, the rule of NS and CO are balanced to gether = no xenofocus.

hehe, focus, SoF, Celerity, Silence, Cara = One dead group of rines.

in combat , focus sure is the odd man out as far as abillities....

    - its the only skill to cost 2 points
    - its the only skill with a negative side effect
    - its the only skill that effects an aliens attack

I mean this focus is just one strange cookii

However, it is balanced out very well, in my opinion, despite the weirdness. Evidence of this is the fact that some people like focus and others don't. It's not an upgrade that everyone gets every time, but it's not an upgrade that everyone avoids like the plague.

True... But its usefullness in classic is way below the balance line... Unless you are on an unchained server you wont normally get foucs untill marines have level 3 armor...

Depends on whether your teammates are willing to change their strategies about a bit. You can find these folks on some of the better pubs, without having to bother with the whole unchaining business.

focus is overated imo, sure its the best for hit and run fades, but its better to be a focus skulk rather than a basic skulk when going up against a HA... every little 75 damage hit does its damage, but u usually only get 1 hit in, so focus makes sure that that 1 hit counts... in co it owns everything, even in ava matches... but in ns they usually think about saving eachother and have welders... but if the marines would use ns tactics in combat, then the aliens will be as popular as they were in the infamous 1.X versions...
