Crashing?

<div class="IPBDescription">Problem.</div> Ok i have had this problem since i installed NS on my new comp.

Basically when im ingame suddenly (about after 20 - 50 mins of gameplay) My ns crashes/freezes. When this happens i have to press ctrl+alt+del and end the natural selection task which is not responding. And the restart the game.


Why does this happen? Any ideas?

    Please include your computers specifications. Specifically relating to motherboard, soundcard and video card.

    If you are using a motherboard with a VIA bridge, make sure you download the 3in1 or 4in1 drivers for it from the manufacturer. I had a similar problem and that solved it.

    Is the crash associated with repeating sounds?

    Specs:

    -Abit AN7 motherboard
    -Soundcard is built into the motherboard. Its a 6 channel nvidia i think.
    -Ati Radeon 9600xt 256mb..

    i dont think its a problem with sound card.

    I Have the same problem but i get 2-3 minutes of play and the whole computer crashes be a good help if someone would post thier ideas :/

    yeah, it seems to be a big problem (it crashes on mine after 20-25 mins)... omg steam is ghay <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/mad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> . anywayz... i think that it's just something wrong with steam, a random occurance. I have changed my graphics drivers, uninstalled and done the whole lot, and it keeps happening... so dont worry, steam is just <span style='color:red'>****. (Do not evade the swear filters. They're there for a reason. -Talesin)</span>

    Hey, all you with this crashing, how many of you have installed the HL 1.1.1.0 patch? I was looking today at some of the fixes and it may address some issues. I have been running it before Steam came out, so I don't know if would work on issues, but I don't have the crashing and stuff either.

    Here is a link, and if someone wants to try it and report back that would be nice.

    I have the same problem, but when it happens, i just wait like 20 sec and the game is back agian. I dont get the same problem with other games, only with steam games.
    I played Opposing force, 2 weeks ago and i got many of those crashes.

    My solution:
    When it crash, wait for a while and see that happens there after.
