    Hmm i never use any aditional models, always defaults (exept spec ops pack) it would be great to use the High polly default models. Plz try to work on every model it would be realy great.     If you don't find any skinners just edit the skin from the original model, or the kinda high-poly LMG out there.

    You should split that up in 2 512, or one 512 and one 256 mesh.

    No wasted space, but half the faces that are right next to each other on the gun are on opposite sides of the mesh.

    ill comment on the mesh once its deemed to be "done" but by that preview, i wouldn't want to skin that....

    I had a uber quick go just to show how it should be laid out.

    Preview of the mesh, as you can see, it looks like the actual model itself and it isn't split up all over the place

    As you can see, there are parts where they overlap, but this doesn't actually matter as anyone can actually see whats what

    you have to make all faces accessible on the mesh, not just select a block and decal map it from the side...

    Starting up the project again would probably be harder than getting at least this done.
