    Do not get the linksys one.

    I bought one, and it is incompatible with my ISP. I was busy at the time and so I couldn't return it and there was supposed to be a flash update for it but of course one never came out.

    I have a netgear wireless one and its wonderful, I've been completely happy with it. I'm sure the wired ones are just as good.

    We just got a Linksys one and it's a helluva lot better than our previous one. The one before that took <i>ages</i> to set up and would lose the connection after a while. The new one just plugged in and it was good to go.

    Dunno, but everyone I know that has the same model as me who is on Cox cable constantly loses their connection at random intervals. My friend's, who has an older model, works just fine...

    or maybe the conection was just crap <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I've got a linkysis too, I just use the control pannel to forward ports when I want to steal all the bandwidth <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    interesting....

    makes no sence, but interesting.

    and switching to the netgear fixed it all?

    hmm, probably the router itself just being flakey, not because of the ISP/router. ( don't think it could be the ISP interaction with the router....)

    but, as I said, it is either yah love LinkSys, or you hate em. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    D-Link doesn't work with my ISP. I keep getting disconnected every 10 min at times. Lately, it's been behaving rather well, and it's gone days at a time without being disconnected, but I still get it once in a while and there are bad days when I can hardly use internet at all. That's not the worst part of course. I've complained to D-Link, and either they a) refuse to acknowledge there is a problem, b) tell me to send the router in for "repairs" (where I was told there wasn't anything wrong with it, and I had to pay for the shipping) or c) admit that there might be some problem somewhere and they are looking into it (that was 6 months ago). My ISP just said that the router was behaving odd and that they couldn't do anything.

    I'm quite tempted to have a chat with whoever is responsible for this, and perhaps provide him with a map he can use in order for his head to find its way out of his behind.

    Oh yeah, and, uh, don't buy D-Link.
