Spore Cloud Is Better Than Bile Bomb Spam!

4 real
Hiding in the vent above the Marine spawn in bast(i think). I just started spamming Spore Clouds. They didn't know where they were coming from, as I was shooting through a tiny crack (had adrenaline x3). I killed 18 marines with just Spore clouds (the seige lasted probably 4 minutes). The Onos's were trying to punch through the tripmines and nade boys up front, but in the back it was just toxic gas. The bile bombs were also crashing down from outside the spawn, but rarely did they get a kill. One lerk got more kills than 3 Fades and 2 Onos's.

So I'm saying, Lerks r teh awesome at 4 hives. Spore clouds mean win.

While sporecloud is a marine-killing monster, keep in mind that it doesn't damage structures at all. So unless you've got some backup from other aliens, spamming sporeclouds into the marine base isn't gonna win you the game. That's what bile bomb IS useful for. It trashes both marines and structures, and over a comparable radius to sporecloud, too.

Just time your clouds so the marines 'tank' up first, then kill them to waste their resources.

Yeah, a marine respawn is free for a commander, but any ammo health or weapons that get dropped for the marines aren't!

Many people have come to the conclusion that bilebombs have huge problems with hitbox detection on structures, so they are sometimes completely pointless against structures. And yeah, Lerks frigging own with 3 hives and level 3 adren. It's got great range, awesome damage, and it's underestimated (right now anyways). Best part is that it's stackable. I probably get 4 times as many kills with spores as I get with Onos.

I played one game as marines where fades probably bombed our base with 100+ bileboms and none of our structure were even slightly damaged. Their bile bombs didn't do **obscenity**. Some stupid onos players also used that charge attack or whatever it is called all over the base, donno if they were too stupid to know it doesn't damage structures. They just charged in and died over and over again and didn't do anything either.

The aliens didn't win till humans got bored and left, it was on that map with the elevator and turning door next to the human base.

At level 3 the Lerk does indeed rock. I feel rather guity for spamming spore clouds. Anyway when the marine base is full of spore cloud I switch to spike and start wearing down the buildings too. The only thing that can shift a lerk in a vent is well aimed grenade. Fear the GL.

RazprClaw: A description for using Charge to damage buildings were posted recently and the map you describe is Bast.

I was on this server as a fade laying the smack down with bile bombs and I had the top spot on the frag list. Then this lerk comes, farts on everyone and passes my frags in a couple minutes! But even so, I can't say he could have done it without my bile bomb backup. A lerk without backup is a dead lerk.

    Not for a while.

Whenever I'm spore spamming a marine base I always pack along adrenaline, scent of fear, and regeneration. You can last quite a long time with that combo. Umbra will cover your **obscenity** while you pop out and spore like crazy. Umbra, spore, fall back and regen. Any marine that would use a jetpack or something to come in there is an idiot. Fall back, use umbra, and spike him to death. The only real way to take you out was said above, with a well placed grenade.

    Fall back? Hell no.

Move in, use Umbra, and bite his head clean off in a couple quick chomps.

I've gotten a surprising number of kills with the heal spray.

Granted, I wouldn't assault a base as a lone gorge, but its not a bad idea to have a "medic" on hand to heal the onos as he charges into a hail of marine fire. Not only do you heal the target, stray shots do damage also.
