Can This Game Be Balanced...ever?

Public vrs league
I think NS is going to have problems balancing due to different levels of play.

Marines rely very heavily on the Commander. In public games who knows what you will get. And even if you get a competent Commander half your public players will wander around whining for HMGs and getting killed with them.

Currently I think Marines have very little chance of winning. The patch made it more so. In a public game a couple good Alien players can almost negate any Marine expansion. Since the patch I have not been in one game where the Marines won (and Ive been playing all day, everyday).

But....if they patch in favor of the marines based on Public results this could skew league play where you have a group of well disciplined Marines.

Im just curious what level of play they will aim play balance at or if they can make to versions of the game...one for each League and Public.

NS has two different modes, casual (for publics) and tournament ( for leagues.)

Commanding is amazingly difficult to do in a pub, which is why I think marines are loosing frequently. Until they improve the commanders interface, make it less buggy/laggy and give the command console some fluff (Player roster with HP/ammo status, general waypoint, make it harder for thee noob team who all want their HMGs and HA or they will vote to eject you) I doubt ill be assuming the commanders chair very often. Commanding simply isnt my idea of fun.

I've been commander for some time. And we've won 9/10. I noticed that if the commander is doing good and some player starts whining, that player usually get attacked by the other players. I think a lot depends on how good the comm is, good comm -> respect from players, bad comm -> players whine & stuff.

Hey, I led my team to win as commander last night. It just takes a good commander and guys who can aim and follow orders.
