*sigh* Forlorn as usual sticks with his elitist attitude and his elitist friends. By now I've just stopped caring. If you don't want the game dumbed down why didn't you protest when flayra said he was adding 3jump-script? OMG it will help newbies!! OMG kill it!?
And just curious who has said ANYTHING about letting the game do the bhop for them? All I've said is that there is nowhere in the NS-manual documented how to bhop and without browsing the forum a newbie won't know how to do it which is totally wrong. Read up the posts before you post, but then you're better than everyone else aren't you? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I don't think the timing part is the hardest part of bunnyhopping. I personally can't bhop (well, i can reach 400 speed =/) But i can time my jumps perfectly without a 3 jumps script <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> When i say perfectly i'm only human i'm boun to miss a few jumps.

When you "time your jumps well" but don't land it perfectly, you don't increase your speed, you're just simply jumping. Jumping alone increases your speed, but bunny-hopping is on a whole new level. You can simply run in a straight line holding forward and jump for about a like 50-75 speed increase or whatever, but bunny-hopping is entirely different and speeds you up tremendously.
I personally think having it be easier for people to time the jumps correctly through a 3jump script is not a bad thing for NS. You still have skill levels, I myself think I can bunny hop quite well, and I'm doing quite well learning the "double-hop" where you move in 2 directions each jump as opposed to one for narrow areas ect and just more control, but I'm not pro at it yet.
Some people will always be better, having the mechanism there for people to try doesn't dumb the skill needed to do it well. Its like having mouse1 bound to +attack, everyone can shoot, but someone who can aim well is going to hit more often.

Everyone may voice their opinion on bunnyhopping and discuss it. But <b>this</b> thread is for setting up a training session with Jacknife, not for refuelling the entire bunnyhopping debate! Please, if you don't have anything on-topic to add, don't say anything. People who want to learn bunnyhopping from someone who is very able to do it can be helped with this thread. They can't get alot of help if the thread gets locked <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
i have nothing against discussing the balance of the game, but when you've got people who either 1.) believe they're always right (think f-----n) 2.) haven't played the game for longer then a month, it's just not worth it.

If you miss one jump it screws you over in terms of speed
Just out of interest, what kind of speeds do you reach?
450? 500?
