<div class="IPBDescription">Why has there been no game 4 this yet?</div> I kinda like this series even tho it's coming to a close now and the spin off Atlantis although good seems to just been a re-hash of SG1 but with different characters and the Raith instead of the G'ould

Just wondered why there's never been a game of this cos I think it would be great as an fps. I remember a mod in the pipe line for HL but it died as did a similar mod for OFP <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Shame really cos stunning peeps with a zat gun online then knifing them would be kool

    The series is ending cos it's been running for 8 years.... 8 seasons is generaly enough tbh.

    Because making games out of every single movie, TV show, and comic isn't always the way to go. I'm starting to think they should put restrictions on it really. I'm surprised EA hasn't released "Harold and Kumar" third person action adventure.

    From what I hear, the Chronicles if Riddick was a good game.
    IMHO, the stargate show sucks, the movie was far better.

    SW:Galaxies

    SW:KOTOR

    SW:Jedi knight series

    To name a few..... All were good (especially KOTOR) an the last 3 were big big sellers.

    Unlike the publicly-lauded Firefly that was canned halfway through its first series.

    There was a playable Stargate HL mod last time I checked, give it a whirl if you're masochistic.

    Tbh, I got a beta of that Stargate HL mod a long time ago and, tbh, I never even touched it, mainly because, tbh, the setup was somehow in French and, tbh, it didn't work either... Tbh, I got it from someone on the team...

    I do believe that the entire MGM legal team were left overs from the Third Reich, and were very quick to shut down any attempts to make mods or even dream about making a mod of SG-1.

    Marine, that makes no sense. MGM owns (owned?) the rights to SG-1, and they made their own pathetic spin-off called Stargate: Infinity. The guys who run SG-1 have no say over legal issues with SG-1.

    Besides, there was an old SEGA Genesis (or was it the Super Nintendo?) game for Stargate (the movie). It was horrible, from what I've heard.

    Don't get me wrong, its a good show, but if you follow the paths of TV Shows/Movies turned into video games, well, they usually suck. This is not to say that Stargate is crappy however.

    It could be a great X-Com/diplomacy style game.

    Maintain diplomatic relations with various alien factions; join the Nice Parasites and put up with their snobby attitude and arrogant demands, or become part of the Nasty Parasites' empire and give up the bodies of your soldiers for infestation. Alternatively, go it alone and screw around with both of them. Try to stay ahead of the Russian SG project, and the corruption inherent in the secret services. Do you plunder useful artifacts from worlds (improving your tech), or ally yourself with them (a possible source of manpower)? <i>Can you make the perfect sandwich? </i> Yes, yes I can. It's all down to the turkey.

    Well lets see

    1) Most SG mods have been swiftly stepped on by MGM..... apparently. Sort of like FOXing.

    2) The most well known SG mod in the making switched game engine a lot of times. EF, EF2, JK2, JK3, and now I think they're on to HL2.


    I think, in general, the blame lies squarely at the feet of lazy modders.
