<div class="IPBDescription">For all your gmailers</div> "Google has released the official Gmail Notifier (Beta) for Windows. It will sit in the Windows tray, alerting you of new emails in your account (if you are lucky enough to have one already). Additionally, the Gmail Notifier can connect 'mailto:'-links in web pages to Gmail.""
Get it at <a href='http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/' target='_blank'>http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/</a>
There is also a rather handy blog for unofficial Gmail utlities.

Teh uber small....and uber nifty XD
//does yours check automatically, or do you have to do manual "checks"?
Automatic checking
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> /me is suspicious<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Of what?
It'd be easy to make it simply forward messages to another account, but I think I may study up on POP3 and actually writing something to use the Perl module to turn GMail into POP3 mail, except 100% server side (not some silly utility you download)...
Or I can just wait a few months till someone else does it! :P

works with firefox (as all it does to interact with fire fox is popup www.gmail.com in a window)
when ever you get new mail it pops up a little msg with who it is from and a brief blurb of it.
