How do i increase the FPS rate with this
Yeah ive been having difficulties for awhile and everytime i play natural-selection i get around 40-50 fps maybe less. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to increase the fps rate to nearly 100 especially since i heard people made it possible to do so and continuously i might add no matter where they went in each level with this video card. If anyone can help me it would be a great help. Also i heard something about disabled anti-something or vsync. Not sure exactly what that is but maybe someone can varify that for me. Thank you

Turn dynamic lighting off.
I dont know about Gforce cards but the 3d tab in the driver controls should have a openGL section. Make sure you dont have and AA or AF on.
not true at all... it's easy to tell when my fps drops from 80-90 to 60-70 area. Very very very easy 100 fps constant is very very nice to have for NS

Plain simply wrong.
When I tried out a new driver for my old geforce 4 a few days ago, I noticed that the movement was kind of jerky. When I checked the fps they were dropping from 85 to around 60 - 70 when there was alot of action. So yes, one can easily notice a change in fps, even if its above 60 fps. And this doesn't apply to framerates breaking in, I can clearly tell a difference between max_fps 65 and max_fps 85.
@ Lynwid: Try the Detonator 44.03, in my opinion the best driver for the geforce 4. Thats what I'm using after the "fiasko" with one of the newer forceware drivers, and now I'm back to a constant 85 fps.
I got the GeForce4 Ti 4200 card aswell, use old drivers to get highest possible fps.
Why? Old drivers has better support for old games like Half-Life.
Because new drivers support new games better, like Doom 3, Far Cry etc.
The best drivers I've found for this card with Half-Life is 52.16, can be downloaded here.
Try out some vars to fix your fps, I believe there is a guide somewhere on this forum showing some of the fps commands, but if you want the game untouched with high fps be sure to have max_fps set to 100.
Good luck.
You came to the right place (maybe)
Here, try this link. It is very easy to follow (even I did it).
I will warn though, some have had problems with the 61.77/76 drivers from Nvidia. If you have trouble (lag and crashes) then go to the 56.72.
