To be honest with you, I've never seen a hacker in action on NS. This could be just because the European scene has far less players, therefore a smaller player:hacker ratio.

To anyone who says that the person daclaring them as a hacker is a noob, youv just confirmed that you ARE a hacker, its the easiest trap and everyone says the same thing.

Iv gotten used to how ppl react if you call them a hacker, if they say 'No you just suck'. You go into spec mode and i bet they stay out of trouble.

I find that 80% of the time, ppl who freak out at being called a hacker ARE mostly hackers. Try it. It really does work.

EDIT: Iv caught 3 in the last 2 days through speccing the denyers.

The only blatant hacker i have seen was a guy who gained res like 4 times as fast and was able to go onos in like 2 minutes. Sure you could do that by killing a lot of people, but he was able to kill rts as a skulk in 10 seconds tops. I have suspected a few people of hacking, mainly because they never die and yet i bite them over and over, but hey i figure innocent until proven guilty.

kenichi, next time you see a hacker, demo him and send it to me.

and yes propably the most common response to a hackusation is "lol ur a n00b" etc. because its pretty hilarious for the accused, and if you ever develop an aim that can kill more than 2 skulks per lmg clip you will propably realise the comicy too. until now, you just suck, as the victims of your accusations have already pointed out.

e: in case u dont have an upload service its tomekki- at quakenet.

To the original poster, I do hope you know that some of the nastiest cheats are not detected by VAC. Check out counter-hack.net. CD > VAC for detecting hacks. However, VAC is far more powerful as far as "justice" for cheating is concerned.

Kenichi, I seriously doubt you're some kind of anti-cheater guru who is able to catch hackers at a whim and a spec. It's not as obvious as you say it is. I don't hack, but wait, I say "noob" or laugh at people when they call me a hacker or whatever. Your whole anti-cheat philosophy, while admirable in intent, is simply insane if you bothered actually thinking about it.

You have a suspicion and a reaction to voicing that suspicion. That's hardly evidence of hacking. There are some amazing people in every game that do things that don't make sense, defy all logic, or seem too perfect to be true. But guess what, they don't hack.

If we see he is aimbotting, then we ban him. Solved in a few minutes. If you play on the much larger servers where admin is never present, then what can I say? You are screwed.

    100% ACK.

Aimbotters are such easy to spot. On my server i had only 3 aimbotters till start at Sebt. 2003 or so.

Why bother speccing when every good hack these days can be toggled on or off?

Anyways, someone should make a Roaster John for NS, where someone downloads a cheat that is actually RJ, then the program reports the nooblet to a list where he gets humiliated in public. Worked very very well in TFC, and showed that many top-tier players botted and wallhacked on pubs and matches.

Once I was playing CS in cs_estate (the map with the big house in the center). There was a guy who used the awp. He would walk with it zoomed around the house. The instant someone appeared, his aim would snap to the person and he would shoot. He didn't hit every time, because of his lack of ability to stop before shooting, (lol) but in 1st person spec it was clear he used an aimbot. Unfortunately, I think I didn't even know I needed a demo to ban him at the time, so nothing happened. He didn't return to the server, however.

Another time there was a sniper in TFC who hit every shot. I didn't suspect him though, until he was kicked and the message "Aimbot Suspected" popped up.

Those are the only cases I can remember. Either Cheating-Death is very good or the admins of the servers I usually play on are.

ROFL. Best. Post. Ever. When that came out for TFC the catacombs was lit for like a month laughing at the people that got caught.

I caught and banned like 90 hackers the other day, because they were better then me.

Ok, next time a hackusation flys my way, apparantly denying it will confirm it. So, the logical conclusion would be to confirm it, thus denying it. Makes perfect sense.

the best thing to do when accused is just to not respond at all.... just keep playing, the other guy will just lose interest and forget about it.

dont be like duo who when accused he says, " aimbot 101", addes myg0t into his name, and just instigates. we lanned together the other day and he got us kicked from a few servers.. probably only forlorn knows who im talkin bout.

My bad everyone, you're all in the right and me in the wrong. You were all in that particular game watching that non-regular (on the server) playing, killing 6 skulks in a 360 degree move. So I guess you're right and they are no cheaters in NS, nope, not at all, not a single one, it's impossible to say there is one, uh huh...

    sigh.

Oh, Forlorn, I know that some people can make a score like that and be legit, take Burrito for example he can do that, but that guy on the screenshot was just obviously hacking. At the end of the game, he had a 100 kill and about 10 death, and the time he died was to higher lifeforms like fade and onos. There was absolutely NO way that a skulk or lerk could get to him, cloacked or not.

At any rate, this does not matter since all I wanted was to show some people here that YES, hackers does exists, even more in NS where there is absolutely no protection against them. I'm not saying that everyone with a high score are cheaters, so sorry if that is why ticked off a lot of you.

And why didn't I take a demo ? Because frankly, I don't care, I play NS once a week when I have time. If I'm having a bad time on a server, I just change to another one and I don't whine.

i have a strong feelin he is talkin bout mustang, oh well... it must suck running into the indestructible guy on a pub, wait, i was there the other day. damnit!@ yes, everyone on the server said mustang cheated, but then, none of the aliens seemed to know where the jump button was.

Notice how alot of the people int his thread aren't denying that there are hackers?

The only hackers I've ever seen are so blatantly obviously hacking it's ridiculous.
  • BuggyBuggy Join Date: 2003-11-08 Member: 22400Members, Constellation
Hackers in NS are rare, but they are around. I've seen a speedhacker or two, and a wallhacker, once. I always used to think that the wallhacker was just a good player though, until someone made small movies showing that he did wallhack.

So, just don't accuse any random Joe, but do some research in certain "dodgy" players. That's how the wallhacker got caught.

i would like someone to point out someone they think is a hacker, i dont care if its a name, or a demo, or what... somethin to base this conversation around.... instead of just talk. neither side of the arguement will get it till they see what the other ones are talking about.

someone record a demo of mustang, he doesn't hack, and show some of these ppl how high the skill lvl in ns goes.

Just ran in to a weekend aimbotter just now. I haven't seen someone blatantly cheat like this in a very, very long time.

What kind of gave it away was his auto-report after every kill, stating his kills, deaths, ratio, and headshot percent (lol)

His HMG was absolutely lethal, but in a 1-on-1 situation, all the aimbot in the world couldn't save him from my Fade

The server crashed during the next game before I could go Onos and eat his Dodge this. over and over again

[edit: oh, and he openly admitted to cheating and said his hacks were NS specific and private release only]

Thats why you just came to the forums to complain?

The difference between clanners and pubbers is very high, even a mid level clanner could goto a pub and dominate it.
