Playing here requires you either not be very good. I mean, I've been banned from both (without speaking once) for insert_crappy_cheat_accusation_here.
Its because the regulars at these servers are usually average skillwise, when introduced to highly skilled players they freak out and the admins usually side with their regulars and ban accordingly. You cannot play a fun game of NS in a public server anymore unless you belong to said newbie servers. Its downright impossible. Join a clan.

To be fair, if you are owning the server then its not very fair on the players on the server that are geting there bums kicked. Its an admins job to keep his server fun and full. If your too good for the server then I cant see a problem with them asking you to leave. Either find a better server or dont go your best class(fade or HMG) and it makes it more fun for everyone

I started NS when it first came out but stopped playing for a while..
I restarted when Combat was introduced cause its fast paced action and fun. Teammates aren't really needed and you can just practice one specific race easier, or weapon.
I stopped playing Combat because the single-respawn became a bit too easy to slaughter and then spawn killing blah blah ect. I just don't find it challenging..
So I started playing classic again, loved it. Classic is incredibly fun, but sometimes you just want to own it up playing some combat. Level 21 servers, wave spawning have all added an element that makes it more entertaining than the average classic pub alot of times.
I play classic when I want to gorge and build things, I play combat when I feel like killing. Going fade in a classic game generally means the other team loses, as most people cant handle fades with just level 2 shotties and armor 1.
I have 14 different first person demos of people aimbotting on various NS public servers, Ive not even bothered giving them to admins, theres just no point. Ive pretty much given up on online gaming for a while.
NS has really lost its edge. Its not about it being perfectly balanced for me. Many of the previous versions have lacked balance, but were still dynamic and fun to play. At the moment the games are too fast and lack serious battles for map areas. I remember the times on bast were both sides would fight for atmos on bast for 10 minutes, and when it looked like the aliens were losing it 1 skulk would heroically clear out the last 3 marines. moements like that have gone. now its... rines get elec rts.......aliens do nohing........aliens get fade..... if fades good aliens win........fade dies marines win........

2. find a better server. "SERVERNAME [28/30]" isnt necessarily the best pub experience available. if thats not enough find a clan or start pugging.
