i get the "you cannont join a server w/ a different client version error"
i have cs retail
do i need 2 update cs?

    Well, you need to have CS patched at 1.5 ( lastest ). If it still doesnt work, try re-applying the patch ( without uninstalling ), thats what my friend did and it worked.
