Iv noticed a huge ping difference when say its 6 v 6. Mine jumped from 50 to 190 and it seems to be staying at that. I was just wonderying if this is an issue in the game itself and if anyone els is having this problem. My cs and dod servers seem to be pinging great so im stumped as to what can cause this. Again any help is appreciated :]

Its probably your CPU, run top or perfmon on your server and check the usage. Thats my top for map eclispe with a full server, so check your CPU%, then your RAM usage, then Your swap/page ing notice how i only have 980K used. So it may not be just your CPU. Alsp don't forget to read the Post at the top of the forum called Server Performance Tips
Edit : The reason its only been up for 2 days is because well, they dont' have hot-swap processors yet so i had to shut it down <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> to swap procs with my desktop (1.33Ghz Tbird)

Hehe, yeah I got the same problem. At full server my CPU usage shot up (eventually to 99.9%). I think its because I've been doing alot of optimization of pings at the cost of higher CPU usage... the CPU upgrade coming should alleviate most of this.
U don't need it. As stated before this mod uses LESS bandwidth than CS does so its easier on your pipe. I decided to let the CPU handle more particles and such and and let the plugin modify thier cl_rate (? i get that right?) so the server doesn't have to process so many packets. Not sure if it works better this way or not.
Oh well. 1.33Ghz Tbird isn't really enough to run this mod. hehe. Soon (aka 6 months+) i shall get a XP 2000+

Maybe I said that wrong... I do realize the problem is my CPU, cos my bandwith is plenty. So what I've done is just optimized it so the HLDS server gets all the available CPU on my box, sometimes maxing my util etc. to try shave off some ping. The ping stays under 100 until later in the game with more entities etc. then it climbs to around 400 before the end of the round. Hopefully when my CPU upgrade is completed, it'll be able to stay under 300 the whole time. (Also 1.02 will help with this I'm sure)

Thies machines run cs and ut2k server just fine, but when I try to run a 18player NS server it jumpes into the 400range.
