well, from my experience from the old one, marines had WAYYYYYYYY too many nodes. it was ridiculous.

only 5 minutes to get to the siege room? ehhhhhhh, im not liking this. especally since its in thier base. perhaps moving it close to the door so that marines just have a slight advantage of getting into the siege room

Pardon me for asking, but what exactly are Siege maps?

Is it a new gametype thing, like marine vs marine combat?
  • CrispyCrispy Jaded GD Join Date: 2004-08-22 Member: 30793Members, Constellation
Siege maps are aliens vs. marine maps and usually have some if not all of the following:

Large, spartan layout (big rooms, few textures)
    Many res nodes per team
Doors set on a timer that open linking a middle ground
A door set to open later on in the round, leading to a room within siege range of the alien Hive room.

I think that these games could be far more enjoyable if the res nodes were reduced to create a tighter game. As they stand, they are glorified deathmatch maps. I don't think they are invalid maps, they just really don't cater for want I like to see in NS maps.

So just because all other siege maps look like crap you say "Well, since they look like crap, I gotta make this map look like crap otherwise no one will play it cause siege maps HAVE to look like crap!"?

    Nice logic...

just when i thought that ns was horribly balanced in b4a, it is worse in beta 5. wow it takes 5 shots from level 0 hmg to kill onos. well forget this remake, im scrapping it because there is NO point in making it if the game is now this bad. btw nice job devs in screwing up the gameplay worse than ever.

rofl, weren't you going to remake it? just like you're remaking this map? what about ns_fenris? do you do anything besides remakes? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

btw, you're blaming it on the game, when you're remaking an unbalanced map per se, gj! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Good question. According to what you just said about NS you should ask yourself.
