Chinese is amazingly easy to speak and pretty hard to write. It is a beautiful language and should be considered. If you want to write, choose Traditional over Simplified because Traditional looks better (even if China uses Simplifided)
German, Japanese and French could also be considered. Japanese because everything cool comes from there, and the other two because, along with English, you could move anywhere in the EU without any problem (considering if these three languages aren't official languages, they still know one of them)
If you live in America, you might as well learn spanish. You can't go anywhere without talking to someone who can't speak english.....
Mandarin--although it could be very difficult if you don't notice the up and down accents. Other than that, I can count from 1 to 20, and know a couple phrases and words, which are pretty easy. Otherwise, I would try sign language. very cool.

im doing latin and classical greek at the moment. amazing languages and very culturally rich as well. unfortunately not particularly viable in terms of modern languages (unless you live in Vatican City, or have a time machine. latin is also a good language in terms of understanding linguistics and is a very clean language as it is dead and has been set pretty much in stone. It also provides for a wider english vocabulary.
classical greek also has some systems by which they can compound words. the longest word ive come across means "old lady with blond hair who sells day old fish at an open air market".
nobody has mentioned greek yet, but i guess its not as widely spoken.
As far as i am aware, English is now taught from a very early age in Japan and China. My brother was recently there and found that if you got lost in japan all you had to do was find someone under 30 and they could probably speak english.

I'm learning French too. And all I have to say is, it is such a stupid language.
