I wouldn't say they are worthless. But I would say they are a good waste of 50 res now. 1 on 1 vs a marine they can still pack a punch, and against electrified rts they are great. But unless someone really knows how to Fade(and I mean really knows), they just get owned. The only aliens I see lasting for long periods of time now are Lerks(yknow the good ones).
But in all thruth I can't stand the new blink, if its going to be kept in it's current form at least increase it's velocities/speeds/1337ness. Until then Skulk 4 Life!!!!!1
God's sake, they havent changed -except- that you cant blink with no adren anymore. If you happen to suck at this game, dont blame it on a new beta, sorry to be rude.
Actually thinking back 86-6 isnt quite as good as 100-6 so yeah maybe they did nerf it, or maybe its just cus I drank too much <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Fade is fine. The problem has always been foolish people (especially in CO) rushing as a fade into a large group of marines and dying. Then they play NS, and get slaughtered instantly. Technically, one marine with a shotgun can equal a fade assuming there is enough space to maneuver around.
I just got back from a game in NS mode on ns_caged and went 33-5, and most of those kills came from being a fade. By the end of the game, it was me, two other fades, an onos, and an army of fatties taking on jetpacks with shotguns and HMGs. It was one of the best games I've played, and the aliens ended up winning.
If you think I'm joking or lying, just ask <a href='http://www.online-evolution.net' target='_blank'>these guys</a>.

He's saying : Its patently obvious that Adren restrictions don't matter to co_, where you have alot easier terrain to manuever and are always closer to the Hive. Not to mention, once you have Celerity energy management is a good bit more comftorable anyway. Lets not even mention how patheticly easy fading in co is.
In classic ns_, its an annoying handicap though. Sure people can adapt to it - but I see no positive gameplay changes in arbitrarily getting a 'cooldown time' if I run low on adrenaline. Its just plain not fun, although it effects experienced players only on rare occasions.
Kind of like the map-specific geometry issues. They don't exactly make it more exciting or fun <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
If you get celerity it's fine but one hive fading is less fun that it ever was. It's not impossible but i find it harder work and i'm less effective because of these adrenline restraints. I guess the change makes sense from a bug squashing point of view but from a gameplay point of view maybe a tiny speed boost would of been nice to level it out.
And G, no one cares about how you boned some newbies in combat as a level 10 fade. It's not exactly a challenge and neither is public fading so please don't be "oh i went 50-4 the fade is fine" because anyone and their dog can do it.
Fade feels fine to me, players just need to adapt. Learn how to conserve energy by using blink in bursts rather than holding down attack and flying around. It also helps emphasize the importance of a 2nd hive, with fades becomming more dependant on meta.
havent actually died to this yet, but can get a bit annoying <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And before someone tells me to learn not to mash on the blink button, I don't. But I have gotten used to being able to get a least a small blast of blink off to make my escape with after flying in and slashing a half-dozen times.

I always got adren as a fade in beta 3, but not because of that.
One HMG marine equals one fade, if it's a long corridor.
