Aliens Choose Lifeform On Death?

Is it possible to allow the aliens to choose the lifeform that they spawn as when they die? I'm thinking about Combat or course.

This would combine the best part of the new Beta; unchained lifeforms, the ability to become any lifeform that you have res for. But without the problem with Marines winning games just by grenading the alien's spawn.

I am suggesting this because there seems to be a problem with the marine win in Combat being too easy because the aliens spawn as skulks and are easily killed by gl spam. If this is happening, the aliens could choose to spawn as Fades (if they have the points) thus surviving long enough to kill that nasty gl spammer.

Skulks are the solution for nade spamming. Rush the GL and kill him...it's not hard to close the gap with a gl and he's pretty much defenseless close up.

Don't just sit in the hive.

That would be Pretty much useless, because then u be killed as onos and still respawn as onos. But you should spawn as Skulk <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

They win games by killing your suicide fades and oni.

Really, just adapt and play more classic-like with higher lifeforms by leaving the enemy before he kills you.

That's the very problem he's talking about, Fodder. He's not just thinking about one GL'er, but several. We've all seen it happen; everyone dies, and nobody can respawn without being wiped out by spawn campers. Wave spawn helps this a little, but with timing any group of skulks can be smashed to bits by a hail of grenades. I think what Tasty is suggesting is that when you die, you choose your lifeform so you can respawn as something strong enough to live for a few seconds.

The way I see it working, is that you could either do nothing and come back as a skulk, or you could come back as an onos in exchange for a longer respawn time. I like the idea, except it would be difficult to work into the current wave spawn system, and it would make for some pretty unbalanced waves if everyone chooses to come back as an onos at once. However, in principle, I think it's not a half bad idea.

respawning as skulk was the best introduction to combat!

Now combat players might start learning a few of the skills it takes to play Classic! I -love- this change. Keep it.

Or just make it so that if an egg takes any damage while in the hive room, it insta hatches!

Or maybe you should learn how to deal with spawn camping as a skulk, employ a little bit of teamwork, and then when you evolve to a new form try your hardest to NOT DIE, EVER. Make it a point.

Oh yeah, good idea. I'll make a note of it.

Don't die. It's so simple really. Why didn't anyone think of that?
