I don't give a crap about scripts. So someone uses them to get a SMALL advantage. Big deal. Scripts do nothing outside of the games limitations. Not only do I refuse to play on servers who have scripting off, I despise them and their operators.
Honestly, this has me worried. For multiple reasons. First of all, its dividing the already 2 part community into 4. We used to have the Combat - NS division. Now we have Combat - Scripts, Combat - No scripts, NS - Scripts, NS - No scripts. And its not too much more of a step to enforce model consistancy. Oh boy, now the community is divided into 8 entities.
Script blocking should be reserved for clan matches, just as model consistancy is. And thats ALL.

The "anti-scripting" community contents that the scripts don't do anything outside the games limitations, they do things outside of human limitations, thus giving the scripters an edge.
Finally, clan matches won't block scripts, as almost every top clan scripts.

I'd really appreciate if we all got over our unreflected all out pro- or con-blockscripts positions and started discussing what actually works, and what doesn't.
What works : being able to bind mwheelup and down to "+attack; wait", being able to bunny hop with a script if you so desire, being able to bind more then 2 commands to a key, not having someone call me a "scripter" because I know how to put an alias in my config (even one that just exec's my cfg), not having ignorant people talking out of their **** about things that they know nothing about, not being "officially warned" about derailing a thread made by people who contiuously derail script threads with "OMGSCRIPTERSARENUBSCHEATSHAX", etc.
[edit] ps: with the special commands being able to work with blockscripts off, there are like 4 non blockscripts servers and 3 of them suck ****.

if i join a server and i cant jump and get a no scripting message i promptly find another one.

anyway, i havnt been following how thingswork in the new beta as much so correct me if im wrong but the anti script blocks:
anything with colon, exec, wait, etc binded to a key (the old blocked commands)
and
an alias with a repeating command in it (+- commands)
so all the say scripts, join scripts, evolve scripts etc WILL work if there aliased out
