Massive comeback story ...
The game started ... well, poorly. It was already 6-4 in favour of the TSA, and the other 3 on my team were utter n00bs at being Kharaa. They were all Gorge.
Not a good recipe. We barely held off the initial assaults.
We managed to sneak into the other two hive rooms (sewer and ventilation, iirc) and the n00bs were just like "huhuh, let's build a hive" ... and they DID. They hadn't spent squat elsewhere, so there were two hives up in short order.
Meanwhile, no defenses. I was trying vainly to get them to put down the Gorge and let em set up the D, but to no avail. Sigh.
As soon as the third hive dropped, I went Onos. With a little guiding and hand-holding, I managed to get them building the sensory and movement chambers.
The rest, as they say - is history.
One onos. Six marines against it.
One bloody massacre.

(my host isn't being nice to hotlinkers ATM.)
0wn3d. I think that's the first time I've seen an entire Marine team wuss out of final combat. Distress beacons and turret forests just couldn't stop the Angry Onos.

And last night.. on the map you were just talking about, ns_caged - I'd gotten about 30 kills for 8 as a skulk, and they'd completely failed to expand on nearly all attempts. We got three hives up, and I crept up to their CC while the marines were out. Next to their CC I tried something cheeky - evolved into an Onos. It was funny. The whole time I was evolving I could hear this marine running around in their base.. he ran away as soon as he heard the roar
Its nice when you do well as an alien.. you're the hero. Its like being commander - if you win, your the hero. If you lose next round, your the scapegoat. In this particular round, when I simply announced on teamchat that "CC's down.. turret factorys next" .. the cries of "Woo! that was quick!" were pretty gratifying.
I love this damn game.
What the hell we've lost anyway, I run into their base, get past the turrets up to the CC area. They keep dying and respawning at the base (my fellow Kharaa are putting up quite a fight), so I know I can't just bite the CC.. they would hear and come get me. So I evolve to gorge, stack 2 offense and 2 defense, and have just enough to evolve back to skulk. They haven't bothered with seige in their main base, so no problem.
Long story short, the chambers delay them long enough for me to bite the CC and the commander. They got me shortly after this, but my work was done. My fellow Kharaa were able to take out their last HMG/HA guys... after that, all they had were LMGs and regular armor.
It was just a matter of time.
