BUT...ever since beta 5...i get really bad lag spikes very frequently...maybe 1 lag spike every 2-3 minutes or so....and at the same time i get a error flashing red in the yop right corner saying something like "error: flush_eneity blblabla" that is only ruffly as it is only there for a split second...

I've been on a server that was experiencing these problems. For me, it was a server issue.

Make sure you're not just going on the same server all the time...is this true? If it is, try some other servers and see if you have the same problem.

Otherwise you might try examining your cl_rate, cl_cmdrate, cl_updaterate, etc. Use the netgraph to see what's going on.

If all else fails...call your ISP and complain, maybe they can help (if it's on their side).

people say all the time check these rates and look at your connection to see what is going on. where do people find out what those rates are exactly and how does each one affect latency?
