Team Ratios...

Teams could be rearranged from a classical 1:1 ratio to a 1:1.5 or even a 1:2 ration...

That is, if the marine team has 5 players, khaara team has 10 players...10 rine playes vs 20 khaara players etc (if following the 1:2 ratio then)

Marines would have to actually be buffed...yes buffed up...khaara, slightly nerfed...

This would most likely only work in larger games, but it'd give that "alien swarm vs lone marines" feeling...AND, it would justify the overpower that the marines has atm...one marine being able to gun down 2-3 skulks before falling would also fit in to the sci-fi marine-alien theme...

Am pretty sure that there are a dozen flaws that would come with this idea so..if anyone see any of those, point them out <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    not a bad idea, but first the NS team has to fix bugs, and at the rate it takes them I cant see your idea being implimented untill about april 2035.

    would be a real pain for clanplay (okay guys.. need 10 players for our alien half!)

    Maybe it should be a sliding scale affecting (for example) the aliens' health. So while playing with equal team sizes would be unaffected (for the clans), you could still have a non 1:1 team size ratio for "swarm" type gameplay on pubs.

    If someone wanted to experiment with this sort of game, the mp_team2damagepercent variable could be dropped to 50 or thereabouts and you could see how well it works out. In theory an alien team doing half damage should be roughly close to a marine team doing full damage with half the players. Of course, the res system will be just right out the window. On the other hand, higher lifeforms won't be as important as massive skulk rushing. Might be viable in a combat game, but I don't see it working too well in regular NS.

    Wouldn't this just lead to marine stacking x2? I mean people like to get kills and its already easier to rack up kills on marines until somebody gets a fade. I mean it would be cool and all, but I think a lot of people will be frustrated at the fact that 2/3 games they have to be cannon fodder the entire time. But, those times when you actually get to play marine would be great.
