<div class="IPBDescription">is so much fun!</div> Today I played my first game on a server wich had friendly fire on. And i must say that it was much funnier than to play on a server with ff off.
When I joined the server I didnt know that ff was on, but after accidently killing a marine on my own team me and eveyone else on the server became aware that ff was on. It was a diffrent kind of playstyle you had to use. You couldnt just fire blindly at a skulk running around your teammate, you had to wait till you had a clear shot on him. Everyone on my team became more carefull with their shots, and we couldnt even think about using the GL for base defence.

Hey, do alot of marines kill each other with <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> 's running around biting them in the legs?
Also, Did the fades splash of the acid rocket or acid bomb kill alot of aliens?
Unfortunatly, this mod doesn't yet have all the anti-**obscenity** protections that friendly fire servers of other mods do (All these HLGUARD/CSGUARD/AdminMod type things that check for team wounding, intentional tking within time limits, team wounding when theres no reason to...) so every game with FF on is almost always ruined by some jackass.
The other mods have been out long enough for highly developed anti-lamer code such as anti teamwounding. FF on counterstrike actually works very, very well (If I play CS, its the only way I play it), due to anti teamwound/anti tk kick/ban/slap scripts / punishment scripts, etc. But until those kind of things appear for NS, there will be lamers waiting to ruin games. They probably already have All Seeing Eye filters set up to scan for friendly fire enabled games just to join and ruin them ...
Is this possible for countering TKers?
If you TK somebody with the LMG the victim gets an opportunity to 'forgivetk' or 'punishtk'. If the victim doesn't pick one it is automatically assumed as a 'punishtk'.
The TKer is punished with instant death and a LOCKOUT from using the weapon they TKed with for the rest of the round (The LMG in this case). Eventually, if they continue to TK and don't get kicked, the TKer will be locked out of every weapon (From Knife to GL).
I think this would be a good work around because TKers get off from the reactions of people (Geez, somebody give the guy a hug), with this people don't have to react because the TKer is basically digging his own grave with every TK they commit. If they persist on TKing soon they'll be running around the map with no weapons at all! (What better way to "convince" them to leave)
Or, how about another feature where after a certain amount of TKs not only are they restricted to the weapons but the Admin Mod will announce to the Team that the repeat offending TKer's own TK protection is dropped allowing people to TK them without repercussion.
Just a couple ideas, I think this game would be even more fun and tactical with FF on, however I see why they made two different modes because there is just no sufficient protection against ArseMunches.
This little idea will also help on late night servers where nobody's around to set Kick/Bans. The TKer will come, at MOST TK people once per weapon and then be outta weapons to TK with.
Not sure if this is possible or even a good idea, what do you guys think?

Can't wait for a FF game, i wouldn't like to be a marine with friendly fire though
Fantasmo if that system was implented, the system itself could be exploited by lamers. Imagine that you accidentley TK a lamer, and he chooses the "punishTK", and ban you from that weapon despite it was an accident.

*Sigh* Yeah, Lamers could take advantage of it in their own lame little way.
