We developed a virus because the problem is so so bad. You have no idea how bad it was/is.
Also, I think there are still guns like shotguns, .22 etc around for farmers, whether legal or not I don't think they're going to get rid of them or have the cops knocking on the door. So go out to your favourite cousin's farm and ask them if you can shoot some rabbits [or drive around on the dirt bikes ] and they'll gladly let you spend the day shooting any rabbits you see.

I HATE RABBITS, well cotton tails are not that bad, but jack rabbits (which were also imported to the united states, same ones as in aus i think) are the worst animal ever, and incredably stupid too.

Seriously those rabbits were a friggen big issue - they would have destroyed our cattle/sheep industry, which would have put our economy back a hundred years.

Looks like we're going to have to blow up Australia. You guys have 3 days to evacuate before I tell Bush that you guys are brandishing hidden WMDs at us.
I wouldn't worry about the rabbits. There are rabbits elsewhere in the world, it just turned out that Australia is the perfect place for them. Fun fun. [And you're not going to get a few billion rabbits just swimming overseas.]
Nobody really cares about the rabbits. When I read the "maggots eating the rabbit alive" I just wondered if it would be like some kind of crazy hollow dried-mud ball where if you press the side it crumbles and there is candy inside

Maggots can actually be used medically to remove necrotic tissues without causing more damage.
