Everyone: leave Thursday alone.
Thursday: leave it to the ops to decide what's spam and what's not. At the least, this is an informative thread letting people know about the new story -- I wouldn't have known otherwise. So chill.

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Sin's programming blunder made the history books, I'm sure. Somewhere, in some college, there is a programming teacher using Sin as an example of why you keep a solid team of beta testers around to check out the final release of a product before it is actually released. The off the shelf version of Sin suffered from on of the most basic and potentially devastating programming blunder a game can possibly suffer. It was a blunder so big it could not possibly be missed, but it was. That makes it the biggest blunder ever printed on a CD and sold to the store. What was it? Well, when you installed the game it didn't matter what install you used, it ran exclusively off of the CD. As a result, load times ran up too the 10 minute mark between levels, and to make matters worse, when you saved the game, Sin would attempt to write it to the CD itself. Now this is an impossible situation as you cannot save onto a CD rom. You would think an error would be generated, but no. Despite the fact that Sin was attempting an obviously impossible operation, no error was generated what so ever. In fact, Sin would go so far as to tell you it had sucessfully saved the game. It was only Ritual's fast and appropriate action that saved Sin from totally losing out as a result of this blunder. Within days of release they had put a blurb in their website saying that they new about the problem and that a patch was on the way. It was released for download within a week. Only problem was that this patch was HUGE! So big, in fact. that Ritual was forced to print out a CD and distribute that so you didn't have to sit through the day lomg download of the file. The CD was distributed in all of the major magazines and mailed to everyone who Emailed Ritual for one. Indeed, Ritual deserves a big praise for handling such a situation with speed and dedication, but also deserves some sort of boobie prise for commiting the biggest software blunder in programming history.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Even if it is Gold and Done, Vivendi will most likely hold off til Mid-November for a Holiday release. It's a major title with huge sales. They've been slumping recently, so they'll be capitalizing on the Holiday tangent to its max. Anything earlier than that will be unlikely. Damn them.
Actually, I'm not that angry. There'll be enough new fodder till that point to keep me company, and the big advantage of a drawn-out QA sequence is a well rounded title.
