<div class="IPBDescription">NS: Infestation promo vid need help!</div> <span style='color:red'>NOTE: I understand if nobody wants to do this! But please, click my sig to find out what im using them for.</span>

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had the time (and motivation) to make a couple really high quality models for the following, as I want to start making the Infestation promotional.
List goes:
----------
Models (as high quality as possible)
~~~~~
-Skulk (maybe even with a moving/climbing up a gentle slope action?)
-maybe a Gorge (if nobody is willing i can omit it, its a last priority)
-A marine, or even three different marines, ie. height, skin color(as they will be replicated in one of the scenes). The 3 different is also a low priority, as i can foll with lights to make them look different.
-A commander or high ranking figure(will be pacing in one of the scenes)
-Hive (also low priority)
~~~~~~
Textures
~~~~~~
-Kharaa texture that represents infestation on a cave wall (the "visible mat")
----------------------------------------------
Yea that sounds about right. I can scrounge up textures for the remainder of surfaces I will be using. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. If not, i suppose i can get Poser and make some myself, but i'm mainly an animator, and my modelling skills are.... weak and... lacking, at best.
I also plan on using 3d studio max to animate everything. If anyone has suggestions on a better program to use, please tell me. I'm looking into compatibility between bryce and 3ds, as bryce allows for quick terrain creation and manipulation. You guys know?
P.S.- Anyone know if the models from the NS trailer intro can be obtained? Anybody from the dev team reading this?
    wait a sec... you ask for very high detailed models ? like the stuff i do? for free?
    im sorry... on high detailed stuff i work more than a week (sometimes several months), to sell the single model for 10$ to a larger group of peoples,just to earn at least 120$ in a month for my hard work ( 50% of the money keeps my broker whos hosting,suporting,advertising and selling the stuff) . its my way to earn a bit money, next to my job
    i could do them for you... i accept paypal
    If the movie is free and non-commericial then the modeller should not ask for money.
    But if it is a movie that is likly to go commercial with people buying it, the modller can ask for a small amount of money...
    of which i have no intention of doing.
    Hey, I have around 3,000 different textures stored on my PC... would you like the huge .wad file to play around with?
    yea that would be awesome!
    And for the record, this movie will not be made commercially. It will be disributed free over the internet.
    Furthermore, a skulk would be better than a gorge, as in the first scene he will be lookin out from a caver (i just cant see the same effect with a gorge)
    Thanks fer the feedback tho! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    Isnt there a rule against asking for money over those forums?
    This is a community where everyone helps eachother, we dont sell eachother stuff over here, at least thats what i think about it.
    <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    you cant see sarcasm even when its trucksized and hits you frontal with high speed....
    do you really think i have to ask for money here?
    its like going into a b-movie theatre with ppls who like to do home videos.. and ask the next best person to direct your next blockbuster movie..but he have to pay for it.. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    another question.. who of you owns enough renderpower to finish such a project in time? sure..this sounds like a fun project.. but animating without motion capturing gear? all animated from hand? the animation work alone will take a long time... and the production render...ouch . i dont know what quality you guys are aiming for. but this really sounds a bit to optimistic.
    donno if im being paranoid but it looks a bit like ur allways trying to "diss" the respected regs probly just me but meh
    On topic::
    i can imagine it being difficult to create realistic animation by hand not to mention time consuming especialy if its a particulary long and complex animation
    tho im not sure how to animate in 3dmax so i dont have expericence with how the animating works i still imagine it would be difficult unless it was basis movments
    im rambling i'll shut up now
    hah thats not true! I dont always try to "diss" the "respected" persons here!
    that doesnt matter really, if you are respected or not, you can still be wrong, or stupid or whatever. I just dislike sheena because she hasnt sounded nice this far, just being negative to everything, and always trying to make everyone else seem stupid with her babbeling about how smart she is and how much she knows.
    she respectlessly throws people in the dirt and i really dislike that, sorry if that bothers anyone ill stop being an **** really that doestn fit this community but i wont stop disliking her until she changes her attitude against other members (even if theyre new)<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    From the rules of the forum
    - Never, ever, under any circumstance, attack or "flame" anyone. Ever. No behavior is bad enough that warrants retaliation.
    - Remain friendly and civil at all times. Be helpful when possible. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
    - Any form of direct or indirect personal attack or harassment is prohibited.
    poser does not use skelletons, its using morph targets based on the PHI system, pretty ugly to apply.. to add inverse cinematic points you even have to edit the *.cr2 files by hand. then you have to assign the origins of the joints in the joint editor, you have to define the limits of the joints, and the zero positions for every joint... after that you can open the cr2 file again and delete every joint dial that is useless, and define names for it.
    there is a python script in pro pack and p5 that creates a "fake" bone asignment room, that simulates a bone, but in reality creates a morph target in the background... but that system sucks , because single vertexes cant be assigned to the " faked" bones... just object groups. if something does not work at this point, you have to start all over with the phi editor, without using the bone room .
    the result is a model that can be only used and animated in poser with a absolutly crappy timeline system, and a slow as hell render engine.
    the plugins to export animations, and poser specific models to other applications dont work very well, and setting the models up to work in max takes more work ,as doing the bones in max itself...
    ive seen very few peoples have really done a longer than 10 second animation from poser in max..and they all have bad errors in them.. and the animation looked kinda odd..
    im using poser since version 2.00 as a drawing guide (like those wood puppets) for concepts , thats what the original program was build for.. not for fancy animation stunts
    Interesting fact about poser. I never knew that. Anyway, the overall quiality we're aiming for isn't THAT high, but because this is just a teaser trailer, im going to make it look really nice. Even if i have to model it myself (I hope to god I don't).
    The actual quality for the movie will be better than hl models, but still not unbelievably high quality.
    whats probably going to happen is a net render... where servral computers render togther using the internet as a link...
    and id soil myslef multiple times if we get to a quailty of something like Final Fantasy the spirits within... <-- good sg stuff...
    or someone with the fastest pc will end up doing all the rendering... <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
