<div class="IPBDescription">A call to Arms</div> Is it just me or has NS attracted all of these "CS kids"? It's horrible. I can't even go into a server without being called a hacker, ****, nub, or noob. Myself, I'm use to a very clean playing enivorment in which everyone is nice to each other and it makes the game so much funner. But this has got to stop. Im sick of these kids running in on servers talking ****, calling people names, ruining the gaming experience. I mainly play Day of Defeat, which for the most part is the cleanest game I know, My DoD clan runs a server (69.31.7.86:27015), and it's swear free, smactard free, and a-hole free. Why can't the majority of NS servers be like this? There are some that enforce these rules but not enough. Basically what I'm asking for is a "call to arms". For all NS admins on all servers, to enforce these rules. I know that this will make the game much more enjoyable for all if we all enforce it.
Please post your opinions on the matter.

But anyway, the only thing really I think is to just hope they growup and learn about NS a bit more. Who knows? They, just like I did, might see that this game is much better then CS and just quit CS altogether.

I am against censorship: you can talk **** as long as you aren't like being a racist or something
I run a mature server: just act responsable, mind your bad mouthing when there is a chick in the server, be kind to noobs, noobs repect the expert players, don't come in and cheat, common sense (or so you would think).
I hate the "CS kids" and their "brat clans" with a passion: you come in acting like a spoiled brat on my server and you might experience some admin_retribution or a kick. I agree with the thread started, those people suck and ruin the fun as much as any cheater.
scripts != cheats != hacks
for me:
scripts = encouraged as long as they aren't exploiting in which case if it bothers others, I'm just like "hey dude, ppl are getting pretty upset about that exploit. Can you be cool and just turn it off for awhile"
cheats = each offense counts towards the triple offense policy
hacks = insta-perma-ban and I might sue your arse so watchout
Side note: some people came to my mature server when it was up for relationship and sexual questions; I swear it was like running "Love Line" in the readyroom. But most of the time it was liek LAN party time because it was all friends and people who wanted to play the NS for the fun.
I also encourage people to work together to make the experience as real as possible. This means things like dying for honor when the rest of your squad is killed, yelling orders like you mean it. I remember one guy who after playing with us for a little while would actually scream like a girl when a skulk startled him. Now that's what I call: into the game. hehehe.

I'll answer the call to arms but this lad has a good point (if you mind the sarcasm), you aren't going to affect the whole gamming community. It's not just NS with this problem, it's not just HL with this problem, it's not just FPS's with this problem. It's truely a comprehensive problem which really all you can do is affect the rules on your server.
But I have also learned the hard way of what happens when you change your rules or become too strict. I am very open and accepting of a very wide array of people and will usually try to keep a policy of everything-goes as long as I can let everyone have fun.

And ya know what? My old man is frikin right on and if we all just worked on keep that policy we'd have a lot less to argue about and have a lot more fun.

Not like no one else is advertising their pubs... and stating things as... we are fair and leet...... and won't ban you right away
I think that strictness leads to the funnest gameplay but it just has to go through the ugly process. But, then the server will get itself established and it'll be fun for all.
So I really don't have a point here.

yes, I personally think the "no voicecomm until the testies have descended" is a fabulous idea
we just have to be picky and get the nubs and not the newbies
