<div class="IPBDescription">Oops, they did it again</div> <a href='http://www.steampowered.com/status/survey.html' target='_blank'>http://www.steampowered.com/status/survey.html</a>

Of paticular note, here:

1. Apparently radeons are catching up to geforces, fast. In the old survey, geforces had the majority by a very wide margin. Now, it's almost even. In addition, there seem to be a lot of other people using videocards that are from neither of these.

2. More people are still using SP1 rather then SP2.

3. More people are using 98SE then ME.

4. Everyone appears to be using either an intel or an AMD - and nothing else.

5. There are people running at 320x280. Somehow.

6. English is of course the number one language of STEAM users. Number two? Korean. KEKEKEKEKEKEK^____^

Note that these observations may indeed be out of date by the time you read this thread, so feel free to make your own.

    A new survey, huh? I better go back and chuck mine in again <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Or should I wait 2 days until I get my new [and very good in comparison] computer?

Buwahahah... I overclocked my CPU to 3.76GHz for this test. So incredibly pathetic. I still hate how they've done the memory listings. Does 512MB-1GB include 1GB? Or does 1GB-1.5GB include 1GB? Bah.

I had a 120mhz compaq laptop when 1ghz were first coming out, thxuverymuch. Back then I only pretended to be playing Half-Life. Mouse left! Zombie! Aim! Fire! Move Forward! Get teleported to alien world! Die! Die Again! Die A Million Miserable Deaths Trying To Beat That Stupid Jumping Puzzle! DIE!

p.s. If I figure out how to play NS in 400x300 mode, I might be able to get above 40 fps. Any idea anyone?

look less than 700 56kers.... i know this is not all steam users in survey but still, i know that more that 2% of users used 56k, i know it has to be true. Valvle lost alot of customers when Won shut down. I can think of 6 myself of the 15 or so people i know who play video games

Wait, they're giving us a hardware survey to see what the minimum requirements of the game should be?

Shouldn't they, you know, just tell you?

I know it's good marketing and all to market a product everone will use, but it seems just plain wrong.

I think they're still tuning some features of the game (just a guess), basing it on the hardware survey. If 50% of the people have P3s with 1 Ghz, I'm pretty sure they won't put reflective floors in every single room. Or whatever. You know what I mean...

This statistic is the most frightening:

    XP (Build 2600) 31,504 16.67 %

IE: 16% of these people have NEVER PATCHED WINDOWS.

Well, almost every single CPU nowadays has the RDTSC instructions implemented...Soooo the 209,868 persons with 1 processor as well as the 338 with 2 processors and voilá, there you have more than 100% (they simply forgot not to take 100% as the amount of survey attendants but the amount of cpus).
Another thing is, Steam thought i was using Direct3D as renderer although i have it set to OpenGL in all Steam Games, so this number might be off by a little aswell, incase that happened to anyone else.

My $DEITY, this why we have spam problems and why internet worms spread so fast.

Your computer could be a spambot and you wouldn't know. The next worm that comes could use your computer to infect uncountable multitudes and you wouldn't know. In effect, your computer is a script kiddie's conception of $HEAVEN.

The apartment I lived in two years ago had such old phonelines that 14.4 was the <b>best</b> speed I could connect at. And I know my complex wasn't the only place in town with lines that bad, and I highly doubt they have been upgraded since I left.
