<div class="IPBDescription">"I Fear What Holds my Death"</div> Entirely on OpenCanvas 3+ and Wacom Tablet, about 4 hours.
I had trouble with the face so upturned, as I usually do, especially with the nose. I had to keep running from the computer to the mirror and back for a proper model. lol
I think I copped out a bit on the Fade, leaving it too undefined for taste. Eh *shrug* Enjoy.
EDIT: Did some changes as per most of the crits here. Thanks guys! "Fuzzy skulk" heheheeh
And for that clean break in the visor, I interpreted the blue visor to be like a seperate piece that is attached to the helmet. Hence the clean break between visor and helmet, but I dunno HOW her eye withstood the force. ^_^

I have just few critics. First the laser, it should be more thin and it should go more further (i hope you understand what i mean, sry for being such an english nub <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> ).
Then the fade, it looks very skulkish, maybe do it more blackish <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
The fade claw is too short, the fade needs to have black skin and more infestation on its body/arm. The laser looks more like a small light or something at the moment... might wanna make it longer. She has blood running from beneath her helmet but the helmet isn't cracked or anything. Maybe add a slash going through the helmet? If I hadn't seen her face I'd say that was a man, her shoulders are a bit big, but I dunno. Maybe she works out much <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
All in all, a *very* good pic. Love it.
She's too hot to die... to a skulk. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> (or atleast thats the way the alien looks to me; not a fade, but a skulk)
1 slight problem with it on the left side (her left, not yours) of the helmet... it doesn't seem the laser beam should be headed that way... more away from the face then towards it. As well, the helmet straps on the left side of the face seem to be a bit bulky, for what seems to be nothing more then a cloth strap on the in-game model.
[On top of this, the armor at where it meets the neck is a bit... 2 dimentional. add a backing of some sort to show that "hey, this thing isn't flat!" because it just kindof drops-off onto the background... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> ]
this is, a female character who isn't objectified, and is also about to die (rather than having vanquished legions of baddies). I'm giving you high marks for even the subject matter of the art.
The art itself is also very good, except that the fade looks like a furry skulk. I was originally thinking it was a skulk, and not seeing how it could be in that position (because skulks travel on all fours). Definitely change the skin color to black; even that will instantle fade-ify it.
Oh, also, I agree with what the others said about the laser.
but for the other posters on this thread, the helmet doesn't need to be cracked in order for her to be bleeding from the forehead.
Great picture!!!!!! Keep drawing, online gaming artwork needs your input, as it is very unique.

But the helmet IS cracked... the clear blue area.
Edit: Although it seems to be a clear break, which is sort of... difficult. The only part that's uneven is next to the nose, the bit above is just a straight line... weird.
You just messed up the shadow on her cheek, which is what makes her face look strange. Switch dark and light spots and you'll have the right depth.
This picture is awesome. It has so much focus on the scene, unecessary detail, and most important of all, emotional depth with a unique pastel like feel to it.
I like it as it is.
The laser looks fine to me.
truly amazing what you girls can do...keep up the good work, the picture is very well accurate.
<3 to all!
/me returns after being dead 20 min.
...thats... ns art at a whole new level!
Anyway great work with the art. Brilliant. Pure Secks

Wish I could be there to save her.
I think you made a fan out of me =/

Good luck, that fulk (fade-skulk, get it? ha ha) would pwn you. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Other than that, pretty nice. Your next piece needs to include a Heavy Armor, a bucket of grease, three chickens, and the rotting carcass of an onos.
wanna see the final version of that pic <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
-edit-
I'm currently writing on an NS Novel. May I use this picture as frontcover? It'd be nice! But first you have to improve it a bit! keep it up.
huh my ears are burning. ^^ Glad to see this thread's still alive and such. o-o
Also, I'm plowing through my senior year in college and also a paying commission for a game mod.. or soemthing like that. NS is, alas, in the lower priorities in my life atm, and so my gaming suffers. /_\
And as for the NS novel cover, what this about a cover? Are you gonna get it published? o-o;
It isn't finished yet (just wrote 29 DINA4 pages) but my clanmates and some other friends of mine who read it said, that this novel is excellent and should become a movie until it's done. I don't know :/ I'm very critical against my own creations (songs, stories, poems etc.)
But your pic is actually a good example for a nice cover. Did you ever read
"Robert A. Heinlein - Starship Troppers" ? Look on the original cover (not the movie one). The cover on the original book is a painted one and looks very similar to your's (not really in the sceene case but in the basic point) I gonna try to find this image on google.
For your future: Keep on painting and artworking! You are goin' to make it!

just found the pic
