Well I originally posted this in the Costie forum..... but was told to post here in order to get better results....

Ok, heres the problem! When i'm playing, (I have v3 B5). NS will just randomly do many things, sometimes it just goes back to desktop, sometimes my entire computer freezes, and sometimes i get "Half life launcher has encountered" error and i have to close. Now i have a 2.7 ghz, with 640 mb of ram. I also have a ATI 9200 SE video card..... This just randomly started happening, I think that the exact time it happened was when i reformatted my computer and put windows xp home (finally, a legal copy ) on my PC. So any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

I did a CPU-Z on my computer, and the detailed specs are attached...

If ne one needs more info.... please ask! Thanks so much!

~Gordon

EDIT: Now sometimes when it exits out, i get the error "PM_HullPointContents: bad node number" without the quotes

I had the exact same problem as you and I fixed it by updating my BIOS. I had a really different system than yours though (Athlon Thunderbird 1.2Ghz, Abit Mobo). Also, try to update your video card drivers to the latest version.

    Be VERY careful doing this...
If you somehow manage to flash your BIOS with an unsuitable version, or even say, a copy of Beathoven's 5th, your PC will fail to POST.

Does this problem occur with other games? Esp. OpenGL ones or other HL mods. If not, I'd pressume it to be NS related rather than hardware, so a BIOS flash may not be advisable.

It just happens with NS.... No other game.... and the problem is only in OpenGL, but when i set to D3D, its all laggy and 4 fps, lol. But no freezing, its really weird.

I also did a FULL INSTALL of steam and ns once again. (haha I like just having HL and NS my only games in steam )
