Delay When Rephasing

The delay when phasing out of an area that you have just phased into is too long. You do not have enough time to phase to the next phase gate if there is a marine phasing in right behind you. Instead you get telefragged.

Repoduce: Drop 2 pgs and get 2 people to phase from the same phase gate with as little delay between them as possible. The first person should look down and spam +use as soon as they have phased. If the marine behind is relatively quick in phasing the first marine will be telefragged before the delay allows him phase away.

Solution: This situation arrises due to phase gates only having one delay. After a phase gate is used in any way it can not be used again for x amount of seconds. There needs to be a new delay added when a marine is trying to rephase. This should be a second or two shorter than the normal delay. This will allow the marine to go on to the next phase gate without getting telefragged.

Note this was not due to the multiple marines can phase to the same destination simultaneously bug.

adding more delay when phasing is a really bad idea, just don't stay on a phasegate like you don't stay on an infantry portal.
When phasing out a pg i always move out before trying to rephase and never got telefragged.

Yeah, its a bad idea, so its good that he suggested doing the opposite... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
It's good that you move out of the way, but not everyone realize that this bug is in the game, so they don't see that any reason for doing so until it has happened to them. Usually several times before they see the connection.

why not just make rines spawn at 4 random spots on the phasegate box?

    kinda like a plus sign

    +

    one @ each point?

And about moving out of a pg, i think that it's more like an infantry portal, they are realli alike and you learn really quicly that you have to go away from infantry portal to stay alive <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I don't say this is good, but solving this by adding more delay is worst.
multiple spawn point, if possible , may be a good solution.

As much as I agree, this isn't a bug as such. Please don't suggest new features here. Ill move this thread to the public beta discussion.
