<div class="IPBDescription">There's got to be a downside...</div> I was scrolling through the config menu, minding my own business, when I discovered there was a "nuke" command that the commander can apparently <i>bind a key to.</i> I don't know what this "nuke" option does, but I can immagine very few people who would ever need to bind a key to it, and all of them are archetypes.
Perhaps it's a command that was removed in early playtesting?
<i>"No fair! Nuking the entire station is too overpowering! Either remove the nuke or give aliens a way to destroy everything everywhere on the map at once, too."</i>

Anyway, I'm curious. What is this mysterious "nuke" option, developers?

Alien equivalent? Deadly acidic plague!
and it destroys anything in blast radius (this includes marines, marine buildings, and all alien stuff...
i can see it now:
Portable nukes, for the marine on the go... sometimes you just gotta turn the base into molten glass
how smart
"We can't hold em!"
"Dropship, this is the commander. Get clear NOW!"
"Roger that commander."
(Sounds of aliens and gunfire in the background, including an Onos Primal Scream)
"We're clear commander."
(Sounds of multiple somethings battering on the outside of the CC, the gunfire has stopped)
*flip* *click*
"Initiating nuclear self-destruct sequence."
"Five..."
"Four..."
"Three..."
(Small punctures start appearing in the walls of the CC)
(Commander pummels the nuke button)
"Two..."
(An onos horn comes through and gores commander through the stomach, he's still alive, barely)
"One..."
"See you in he-"
A slight rumble as the shockwave washes over the dropship...

Sorry, I have a flair for the dramatic...
"Nuclear Launch Detected."
Followed by the round of Oh **obscenity**'s common with nukes <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
1) Build up base defense.
2) Advance tech tree to nuke technology.
3) Do nothing.
4) Continue to do nothing.
5) Having saved ~1000 RPs up, drop multiple nukes in each hive room.
6) Laugh at the aliens back in the readyroom.
Nukes may/will be reinstated when a method of deployment can be done that is fun, balanced, and different (it could probably be done a la CS's C4, but that's, well, been done).

No I didn't. They shot at me. But i wasn't alone. I had a fellow skulk. He died <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> . After that battle i killed one more marine who was spawning. Then i had like 4 hp. I chewed a little at ther infantry portal. Then i died.

It would most likely be a neutron bomb, (you know one that only destroys living matter rather than structures)
I can see though how a nuke/neutron bomb could cause balencing issues though
awery time a skulk kill me im am bilding <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
