Guide To Setting Up A Ds?

Is there a guide to setting up a HL/NS dedicated server?
I've never set one up before, and like my other post says I'd like to set up a 8 player server.
But, I can't seem to find any 'guides' to setting up an NS server, I'm guessing because it's so new.
Do I just setup a typical "Half life" server, then install NS ontop of it? or what?

Thanks

    Under Linux

So.. it is that simple? Ugh.. **obscenity**. The HLDS is a pain in the butt to download because the most prominent place to download it is fileplanet and it sucks because its' always like a 180 minute wait. You just KNOW that wait is sooooo fabricated.

I had a problem with the .bin file uncompressing a corrupted .tar.gz on my server. I managed to find somewhere that had just the .tar.gz, downloaded that, tar zxvf and it worked fine.

That was the only semi problem I had, the rest of it went perfectly.

HL Server download, no wait (I think)

    Linux: http://www.halflife.nu/filarkivet/?id=367

    Windows: http://www.halflife.nu/filarkivet/?id=366

Yes it is that simple, the hardest part is finding hlds. I got it from ausgamers.com/ (i think it's dot com..) There is a guide (for hl and cs) at: http://www.counter-server.net/ I just followed it, and my server is up and running. PII 266 ownz!!! or not...

Still don't know what the little warning tringle in the client is supposed to mean or how to fix it.

If you are talking about the yellow warning triangle that shows up in the server browser built into the client it means that the server is insecure. "insecure" means that Valve Anti-Cheat is not active on that server. All NS servers will have the triangle because VAC was not incorporated due to last minute difficulties. It will be incorporated on the next major version release of NS.

The information on setting up an HL Server can be found in my sig...

Just replace the CS mod with the NS mod and you're set.
