voice flashes.
Yea, everyones seen or had this problem before.
HELP ME!
I use the voice_loopback 1 command, to hear my voice comm, cause people said it sounded bad. So I did it, and alas, it does. I would hold down the voice comm button and it would flash, in 1 second incrimals. I wouldn't be able to hear my self while it flashes off.
I thought it would be rate problems, but when i net_graph 3 'ed it, i had 30 ms ping no choke or loss. and a frame rate of 100.
Can some one help me with this problem. It never used to do this with beta 4.

Alas, it did not, and I tried something I should have done in the first place.
I updated my soundcard drivers.
I have a Creative Audigy 2 Platinum, that I use for both gaming and audio apps. I was so mad, I mean spent all that cash, and the mic doesn't work?! I updated the drivers, and it seemed to work fine Maybe I didn't fix the problem at all, and just did something else before hand? Let me know what you guys did to fix it.
To fix it, I am unable to use any external voice communication programs while playing a Steam game. That means I can't use ventrilo/teamspeak with my friends if I want to communicate with my teammates ingame
that increases packet sizeand the voice nolonger getssplit into tiny bits, but you get a 10% higher ping.
HELP!
With voice_loopback it looks as I'm pressing the talk button repeatedly in 1 second incrimals...
If someone could offer a solution.
Regards
edit: Try the updaterate and cmdrate, but it didn't really help.

Still flashing and not working.
cl_updaterate 40
cl_cmdrate 40
thats for broadband connections if you dial up lower it a little at a time
NOTE: If you join a HLTV server the server will set these 2 real low resulting in the poor mic so check these offten if you watch matches
