<div class="IPBDescription">December 14th</div> There was a thread on this a while back describing the new included scenes....there were alot of them but Its going to be even longer than I expected! 50 minutes of extra footage makes the new version of the film approx 250 minutes long. hooray!
The DVD collectors edition comes with a minature of Minas Tirth. I had hoped the collectable would have been a replica of the one ring. Bah....
December the 14th people. The one film to rule them all:

And couldn't they have done a trilogy boxing?
edit: 4+ hours long!!! I hope the box comes with extra-comfy chairs as I expect sitting in through all 3 movies <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I also expect it to stay in one day (or afternoon) so the breaks won't be that short.
Name me one <a href='http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=commercial' target='_blank'>coomercial</a> company that doesn't try to gain profit. I mean come on, everyone's going after money in some way or the other.
10$ says you never saw a LOTR extended edition plus bonus material.
Alot of people stood and watched them!
Anyways I will just borrow(read:steal) this off a friend when he buys it
Is that a worldwide release date btw?

I agree with Lurker. The Extended Editions are very good. The scenes they add are actually worth watching and fit very well into the film. And dont get me started on the Bonus making of DVDs. The most enjoyable "making of" features i've happened to watch. You really get a feel of the dedication, detail, and work these people have put into the films to make them what they are. And thats important.
*edit* but not as insane, or boring, as pride and prejudice.
Oh, and I'm getting <b><i>this</i></b> one. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Not too many people, and those who are probably smell.
Not sure exactly what you're getting at there. There is no Scourging of the Shire in the movies, extended or not. It was never filmed and never intended to be in them. If you're refering to something else then I apologise.
